About me and my therapy practice
My approach is deep and holistic, honouring each person's unique complexity and experience. I support individuals in creating meaningful change by helping them understand themselves more fully.
I help with a variety of problems including stress, burnout, depression, anxiety, relationships, grief, loneliness, self-esteem, trauma, emotion regulation, existential issues, and managing chronic pain and life transitions.
I’m an integrated therapist and use a few different modalities including emotion-focused therapy, existential therapy, and humanistic therapy. I also draw from behavioural approaches depending on the needs of my clients.
I hold a first degree and a PhD in Mental Health Counselling, along with a postdoctoral speciality in Personality Psychology.
I have over 15 years of experience as a mental health practitioner. I have assisted clients in my private practice, hospitals, and universities.
I’ve also held full-time and part-time research and teaching positions across Europe, and I’m currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Bamberg, teaching online courses in personality psychology.
Practice description
As a starting point, I offer a free 15-min consultation by phone to explore your situation, get a sense of what it might be like to work together and whether I can help, and to answer any questions you may have. This is an open conversation with no expectation or obligation to continue.
The next step is to meet face-to-face (in one of my offices either in Barbican, Battersea, or Kensington) or online for an initial session, where I’ll listen to what brings you to therapy and what’s been troubling you. We’ll think together about what you hope to gain from therapy and decide whether I’m the right therapist for you.
If we decide to work together, we will meet weekly in-person or online, depending on your circumstances.
I usually work on an open-ended basis, without a fixed number of sessions.
My first session
Our first session is a chance for you to talk about what’s been difficult for you and what’s brought you to therapy. We’ll explore the areas you’d like to focus on and how we might approach them.
We'll also discuss some of the practicalities and think about how we feel about working together.
