About me and my therapy practice
Life can present challenges at any stage, and there are times when carrying things on our own becomes overwhelming. Having a thoughtful, supportive space to talk can make a real difference.
Taking the first step to seek support might feel daunting; I can offer a calm, respectful space where you can explore what is happening for you at your own pace. You may be considering counselling because you are experiencing low self-esteem, feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward – whether you are facing difficulties with relationships, coping with loss, or living with the impact of earlier life experiences.
I am a BACP-registered counsellor with several years of experience, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Coaching. I have worked within charitable settings, supporting adults with a wide and diverse range of needs, including anxiety, family and relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, the impact of historic childhood abuse, as well as other emotional and life challenges.
I work with adults and can offer sessions both face to face and online.
Practice description
My work is grounded in an integrative approach, drawing on a range of different therapies where they feel right for you. There's also the option of drawing on coaching approaches where this feels helpful and appropriate. For some clients, alongside exploring feelings and experiences, it can be useful to focus on practical goals, decision-making, or finding ways forward. Any coaching elements are introduced collaboratively and only when they support your therapeutic aims.
Alongside my professional training, I bring a wealth of life experience to the therapeutic relationship. I understand that life’s challenges are often shaped by complex personal histories, responsibilities, and transitions. Many clients value working with a therapist who can offer both professional skill and a thoughtful, grounded perspective.
My therapeutic style is supportive and collaborative, helping you feel heard, understood, and not judged or rushed. Together, we can progress towards greater clarity, self-understanding, and choices that feel right for you.
My first session
In our first session, we can explore what has brought you to counselling, get to know each other a bit and it's also an opportunity for you to ask me questions. We will go through our contract and discuss how future sessions will work.
