About me and my therapy practice
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or simply aware that something in your life needs attention. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to face it alone.
I offer a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can talk openly about what is troubling you, without fear of judgment. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and life experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
My aim is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, develop greater self-awareness, and find new ways of responding to life's challenges. Whether you are struggling with a specific issue or seeking a broader sense of meaning, fulfilment, or change, therapy can provide an opportunity to reflect, heal, and grow.
Even if your difficulties don't fit neatly into a category, therapy can help you better understand what you're experiencing and support you in finding a way forward.
Practice description
I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, and rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor our work to your individual needs, circumstances, and goals; you are at the centre of our work, not a specific technique or approach.
I am an integrative Psychosynthesis counsellor, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic perspectives to support the whole person. I see each client as more than their difficulties or symptoms and recognise the importance of understanding you within the context of your relationships, history, values, and wider life. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship.
I believe meaningful change occurs when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. This is central to working as a Psychosynthesis counsellor: recognising you as an individual and supporting you in finding a way forward through choices, actions, and meaning. You truly are at the centre of your own life; let us work together to support that happening.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet and explore what brings you to therapy. We can discuss your concerns, what you hope to gain from counselling, and whether we feel we are the right fit to work together.
Many people feel nervous before their first session, which is completely natural. My role is to help you feel comfortable and supported as we begin the process.
