About me and my therapy practice

Seeking help isn't easy.

Many questions arise. How do you 'do' therapy? How do you find someone to work with? Are you reading this now, hoping to find someone you feel comfortable to 'try out' for therapy?

Welcome.

Perhaps your search for help and answers online has taken you so far, and you are looking for more. Data is important, but applying it to yourself hasn’t seemed to bring lasting relief or change? I understand that.

So work with me.

We can explore together everything that is troubling you, from increasing dissatisfaction to a major crisis. You will have access to my skills and experience to support you in identifying, considering, contrasting, and exploring actions towards your desire for change. Relationship difficulties, family struggles, money challenges, life transitions? Social and societal changes, fears, and the uncertainty of where you are in your life? Your community? Your future? Feeling heavy, confused, lost? Are your life situations leaving you feeling unable to cope?

So work with me.

My approach is to truly listen and understand what makes you tick, what values are most important to you now, and to explore and identify potential blocks, obstacles, and even accelerators of change that you might not yet see or realise yourself. We can work through this together, human to human. Many difficulties have been worsened by past relationships, so working with me offers added value by helping to soothe and repair broader relational issues through our collaborative efforts. Your focus, of course, guides our work, but the process of working together has a profound effect on helping you navigate your life. What we discover about you is shaped through our time together. No AI machine can offer you that.

So work with me.

Let’s arrange an initial session so we can meet, discuss how we might help you, see how I work with you, and decide on next steps. Email me to book an initial appointment, and we’ll go from there.

Practice description

I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, and rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor our work to your individual needs, circumstances, and goals; you are at the centre of our work, not a specific technique or approach.

I am an integrative Psychosynthesis counsellor, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic perspectives to support the whole person. I see each client as more than their difficulties or symptoms and recognise the importance of understanding you within the context of your relationships, history, values, and wider life. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship.

I believe meaningful change occurs when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. This is central to working as a Psychosynthesis counsellor: recognising you as an individual and supporting you in finding a way forward through choices, actions, and meaning. You truly are at the centre of your own life; let us work together to support that happening.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet and explore what brings you to therapy. We can discuss your concerns, what you hope to gain from counselling, and whether we feel we are the right fit to work together.

Many people feel nervous before their first session, which is completely natural. My role is to help you feel comfortable and supported as we begin the process.
