About me and my therapy practice
I am a warm, open, empathic and experienced integrative therapeutic counsellor and Internal Family Systems therapist. I provide a confidential, non-judgemental space where you will be skilfully listened to so you can be yourself and begin to explore what is really happening for you.
My approach is rooted in the Internal Family Systems model of therapy and I also utilise my initial integrative psychotherapy training, tailoring my approach to the needs and goals of each individual client. This means we will find a way of working that suits you, that lets you work at your own pace to understand your unique experiences. Together, we can work on uncovering the parts of you that hold to certain patterns, beliefs and ways of coping, developing a healthier, more integrated way of understanding yourself and finding a clearer path forward.
I have had the privilege of witnessing, both professionally and personally, how the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client helps to bring about healing and positive change.
I have a background in dance and the arts. I love creativity and bring a creative approach to my therapeutic work. I also worked in education for over 15 years supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties and this work led me to train as a therapist.
Practice description
Together, we will open a gentle and compassionate inquiry into the aspects of you that are struggling. You may be holding onto certain beliefs about yourself and we will look at the way this makes you respond to the hurts you carry. Through our inquiry, we will begin to open space inside, enabling you to heal, see things with perspective and find ways to integrate all that has happened so it can make sense. Through it all, you get to decide what we look at, how far we go, and what feels ok – I will always check. It is my job to hold this inquiry with you, so you feel safe; to guide you at your pace and to help you find your truth.
Helping people engage with a deeper sense of who they are has been core to my therapy practice for the last ten years.
Each session will be up to 60 minutes and I charge £80 per session.
My practice is neurodivergence-affirming, offering you a supportive environment and I will make adjustments according to your sensory needs and communication preferences.
My first session
I will complete a short assessment with you at your first session to help me get a fuller understanding of what brings you to therapy, your current situation, the support network you have around you and what your goals for therapy are.
We will take some time to go through our therapeutic contract which gives us a foundation for the work we will do together. I will then give you some space for you to tell me what you need me to know about you and we will think about our work going forward.
