About me and my therapy practice

I offer warm, compassionate psychotherapy built around the understanding that you are not a problem to be fixed. You may have spent years feeling misunderstood, criticised, overwhelmed or somehow “not enough”. Therapy offers a confidential space in which you can begin to understand your experiences, recognise your own needs and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have become lost beneath other people’s expectations.

My way of working is relational, collaborative and responsive to you as an individual. I will not impose a predetermined route or expect you to communicate in a particular way. We can work at a pace that feels manageable, exploring both what is happening in your life now and the experiences that may have shaped how you see yourself.

I work with adults and young people aged 13 and over, supporting people experiencing anxiety, low self-worth, grief, relationship difficulties, family wounds, trauma, burnout and significant life changes. I have a particular understanding of autism, ADHD and the impact of being neurodivergent in environments that have not recognised or accommodated your needs.

As an autistic and ADHD psychotherapist, I bring professional knowledge alongside lived understanding. My practice is neurodiversity-affirming: differences are not treated as defects, and you will not be expected to hide, minimise or apologise for who you are.

Above all, I aim to provide a relationship in which you can feel genuinely heard, accepted and safe enough to explore what matters to you.

Practice description

Beginning therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you have previously felt dismissed, misunderstood or unable to find the right words. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what to say. We can begin wherever you are.

I offer a free 30-minute introductory conversation, giving us an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you hope might change and whether working together feels right for you. There is no obligation to continue afterwards.

Sessions last for one hour and can take place in person in Bromsgrove, online (through WhatsApp or Google Meet) or by telephone. You may choose the format that feels most comfortable and accessible to you. I offer both short-term and longer-term work, depending upon your circumstances and what you would like from therapy.

Our sessions will provide space to talk openly without judgement or pressure. I may gently offer reflections, notice recurring patterns or help you explore connections between past and present, but you remain at the centre of the process. Therapy is something we do together, rather than something that is done to you.

Your needs may vary from one session to another. Some weeks may involve exploring painful experiences; others may focus on understanding a present difficulty, recognising progress or simply having somewhere to pause. Silence, uncertainty, emotion and humour are all welcome.

If you have communication, sensory or accessibility needs, I encourage you to tell me what would make therapy more manageable. We can discuss any concerns openly, and adapt our work wherever possible.

My first session

Before booking your first therapy session, I offer a free-of-charge 30 minute introductory conversation. This can take place by telephone or online, and will give us both an opportunity to decide whether working together feels right. You are welcome to ask questions, tell me a little about what has brought you to therapy and discuss any practical or accessibility needs. There is no obligation to book afterwards.

If you decide to continue, your first therapy session will last for one hour and is charged at my usual session rate: £77 for adults or £66 for young people under 18.

The session is not a test, and you will not be expected to tell me everything at once. It is vital that we work at a pace that feels comfortable for you - and nothing is necessarily expected to be linear.

We will begin by exploring what is happening for you now, what you would like support with and what you hope therapy may offer. You may wish to think about goals, but this is not demanded. I will also explain confidentiality, how I take and retain notes, the way therapy sessions work and the practical arrangements between us.

We may talk about relevant experiences from your past, but only at a pace that feels manageable. It is completely acceptable if you are unsure where to begin, need time to find your words or would prefer me to gently guide the conversation.

By the end of the session we can consider together how it felt for you, and whether you would like to arrange another appointment. You are not committed to a fixed number of sessions, nor expected to always be available on the same day.
