About me and my therapy practice
Clients describe me as a warm, empathic, safe and a caring counsellor, where they feel able to share their difficult experiences, thoughts and emotions.
I have tried to outline the types of issues clients bring to me below and how I work with them, I hope this helps.
Anxiety
Anxiety does prevent us from living the lives we would want to live, so clients are often seeking to reduce the impact anxiety has on their lives. Once you have strategies to help reduce your anxiety, we can then explore the cause of that anxiety and what keeps it going reducing the impact it has on you.
Difficult Childhood Experiences
You may wish to work on some difficult childhood experiences, to make sense of them and understand how your experiences in childhood impact on the way you feel now, in a safe way.
You may feel a bit confused by it all and wish to talk it through, to help make sense of how you are feeling and to bring clarity on your experiences.
Anybody can experience abuse or a traumatic event at any point in their life, by working together, counselling can help us to consider the impact of that abuse on you now.
Students
For student counsellors, I am experienced in working with students undergoing counselling training.
For students studying other subjects, the difficulties of being away from home and the demands of your course can feel overwhelming, talking that through with a counsellor can be helpful.
ADHD Clients
If you have ADHD then our work together is about exploring your experience or the impact of ADHD on you, on your relationship with yourself and with others.
Male Clients
I work a lot with men who are struggling to identify and understand their feelings, and the impact this has on their relationship with themselves and their family and also their intimate relationships.
How I Work
Working in an integrative relational way, drawing on a range of theories to best meet your need.
Practice description
You can book an introductory call via Zoom/TEAMS, or book your assessment session directly. Before your first session I will send your my counselling contract before our first session, which outlines who I work as a professional practitioner.
In our first session, it is an opportunity for you to tell me your experience and how they are impacting on you. You may wish to set some goals for our work together, so that you feel like it is working for you, we can review these goals regularly throughout your sessions.
It is important to discuss your expectation of therapy and me as your counsellor and for us to consider how sessions can be emotional and how you manage that between your counselling sessions.

Availability
I have availability for both in person and online supervision in Barry and Cardiff, I charge £75 for an hour and a half supervision and £60 per hour
About me and my therapy practice
Supervision should be a supportive, safe and nurturing environment, where you can explore your practice as a counsellor and grow in your knowledge, skills and abilities. Having recently completed my Post Grad Diploma, initially qualifying with a Counselling Diploma in 2012, I understand the demands, stress and difficulties placed on trainee counsellors and those new to private practice.
Being qualified in an integrative, relational model, enables me to assist you in your preferred modality of working. Having trained in the seven-eye relational model of supervision, it is important to me that as my supervisee you feel safe to explore what is happening in your work with your clients, how you can expand your knowledge and skills and your practice to ensure a financially thriving practice.
Fundamental to my practice is the belief that supervision should be supportive, educative and normative and I work with this in mind.
I have a considerable amount of experience of working with experienced counsellors, counsellors in private practice, and student counsellors. I currently work for a charity in Cardiff as a Clinical Lead.
Qualified with a Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision including Online and Telephone work.
