About me and my therapy practice

I have a particular interest in working with people with low self-esteem, that struggle in their relationships – unsure about when it’s okay to say no to people, and fearful of the potential consequences. This can be particularly acute for people in recovery from addiction – it can be excruciating to navigate feelings and relationships, without using the addictive substance/behaviour to numb out the pain.

I know that I’m not a fixer – I can’t fix other people. But I absolutely believe people don’t need fixing. In my experience, we generally need a bit of time and space to air our feelings, our stuckness, our chaotic inner experiences with all their pain and uncertainty. I can sit with that pain and uncertainty, gently explore it with you, and support you to (re)discover your inner values and self-worth.

I see clients in Glasgow City Centre.  Please call, text or email me to arrange a ~15 minute chat (via Zoom or phone) to see if it feels like I might be a good fit for you.

Relationships can hit a crisis point or can just feel like they've fizzled out.  Either way, I work to create a safe space to talk through the problems, and the hurts,  in a gentle respectful way, and to hear other's needs, wants and desires.

Practice description

I help through gentle exploration. I believe we each have an innate wisdom to know what direction we need to grow in, but sometimes we lose touch with this, when we’ve we’ve lost the ability to tap into our wisdom (via our emotions) because it can all feel too scary or overwhelming, or we can "numb out". Our emotions can become out of balance (too much or too little).  I work with you to explore and experience your emotions, with gentle, kind, respectful curiosity, and find ways to be with difficult feelings so they become less overwhelming.

Working with couples is similar - we work together to explore the feelings (or the lack of feelings!) that have brought you here.
