People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, feeling overwhelmed or struggling with relationships, loss, low self-esteem or a difficult period of change. Perhaps you find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships or situations without fully understanding why. Or you may simply have a sense that something isn’t quite right and want the opportunity to understand yourself more deeply.

Sometimes our experiences can leave us feeling as though we are constantly “on alert”. You may find it difficult to switch off, feel easily overwhelmed or notice that your body reacts to situations before you have had time to think about them. At other times, you might feel disconnected, numb or withdrawn.

An important part of my work is paying attention to your nervous system. Stress, difficulties with relationships, loss or trauma can leave us feeling overwhelmed or constantly on alert. Together, we can recognise these responses and find ways to help you feel calmer, safer and more grounded, creating a secure foundation from which to explore more difficult experiences

I provide a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is central to the therapeutic process. Feeling safe enough to be yourself, without needing to perform, please or protect others, can in itself be a powerful experience.

By gently untangling the past from the present, calming the nervous system and developing a deeper understanding of yourself, we can begin to identify different possibilities and new ways forward.

Ultimately, therapy can help you feel more connected to yourself, more confident in your own judgement and better able to navigate the inevitable uncertainties and challenges of life.

I see clients both in person and online via Zoom, providing a supportive therapeutic space wherever you feel most comfortable working.

About me and my therapy practice

My integrative approach combines Relational Psychodynamic and Existential psychotherapy, alongside an understanding of how our emotional experiences affect the nervous system.

Psychodynamic therapy allows us to explore how experiences and relationships from the past may continue to influence the way you think, feel and relate to others today. We often develop ways of coping very early in life. Although these strategies may once have protected us, they can sometimes contribute to anxiety, relationship difficulties or patterns of behaviour that no longer serve us.

Existential psychotherapy brings our attention to your life in the present — how you experience yourself, your relationships, choices, identity and sense of meaning. It allows us to consider not only where you have come from, but how you would like to live going forward.

Alongside talking and exploring, I pay attention to what is happening within your body and nervous system. When we are anxious, stressed or overwhelmed, our nervous system can remain in a heightened state of alert or, conversely, we may shut down and disconnect. Learning to recognise these responses and finding ways to regulate them can help create a greater sense of emotional safety and stability.

Practice description

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I offer warmth, empathy, curiosity and genuine engagement. Therapy with me is a collaborative process rather than one in which I simply sit silently while you do all the talking.

Together, we can explore your experiences, understand recurring patterns and develop greater self-awareness. My aim is not to tell you what to do, but to help you understand yourself more deeply, recognise your own strengths and feel more confident in the choices you make.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and a registered member of both the BACP and UKCP, and my practice is guided by their professional and ethical standards.
