My private practice days are Tuesday afternoon and Thursday evenings. I currently have availability for both sessions. I work out of the Treatment Hub on London Street in Basingstoke.
Please note that the rooms can only be accessed by a flight of stairs.
About me and my therapy practice
You might be coming to therapy for the first time, or returning because something didn’t quite work before. Either way, I offer a focused, straightforward way of working that aims to make sense of what’s going on and help you move forward.
I work relationally, which means we pay attention to what happens in the room as well as the issues you bring. I won’t sit back and simply reflect things to you, but I’m also not here to impose an agenda. The work is collaborative, with enough structure to keep it purposeful and enough space for you to think properly.
Clients often come to me when they want something a bit more direct or engaged than they’ve experienced before — somewhere they can be met clearly without feeling analysed or handled.
I also work with relational and attachment-based difficulties, including the impact of earlier environments or experiences such as boarding school, foster care, time in care, or the early loss or absence of a parent. These experiences often shape how people manage relationships, trust and independence, and can still be active in the present even if they’re not immediately recognised.
Practice description
I offer one-to-one therapy for adults and young people aged 16 and over, either in-person or online. Sessions are usually weekly and last 50 minutes.
We begin with an initial session so you can get a sense of how I work and decide whether it feels like a good fit.
Some people come with a specific issue they want to focus on, while others have a more general sense that something isn’t quite right. We can work in either way, and adjust the focus as things develop.
Sessions are conversational but purposeful. I may ask questions, draw attention to patterns, or help you think things through more clearly, but we go at a pace that feels manageable and useful.
Some people work short-term around a particular issue, while others choose to work more openly over a longer period. We can review this as we go.
My work is integrative, drawing on approaches such as psychodynamic including attachment theory, humanistic and transactional analysis but always shaped by what is most useful for you.
My first session
I offer a free initial online session. This gives you the chance to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a sense of how I work.
I offer this so you can decide whether I’m the right fit for you. It’s important that you feel comfortable with your choice of therapist, and you may want to speak to more than one person before deciding.
There’s no obligation to continue. If you decide to go ahead, we can then arrange ongoing sessions either online or in person.
