I bring a great deal of experience to my counselling work, with a strong focus on building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. Feeling safe allows you to explore, at your own pace, what feels meaningful and necessary as you move towards greater wellbeing.
Finding the right counsellor can feel daunting, especially if much of your life has been spent feeling unheard, overwhelmed, or unsure of where you belong. Research shows that therapy is most effective when there is a good fit between counsellor and client. That’s why I place great importance on the relationship we build together, as it forms a central and meaningful part of how I work.
I also understand that reaching out for counselling often comes at a time when life already feels pressured, emotionally and financially. The cost of therapy can be a real concern, and I aim to work as flexibly as possible so support feels accessible rather than overwhelming. This might include open conversations and flexibility about fees, flexible session frequency, or finding a rhythm that feels manageable for you.
About me and my therapy practice
My name is Kerrie, and I am a fully qualified, experienced BACP Integrative Counsellor with over 25 years’ experience working in helping professions. Throughout my career, compassion, sensitivity, and genuine human connection have been central to my work.
I offer a warm, calm, and supportive therapeutic space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship, which provides a safe foundation for exploration, reflection, and change.
I work Integratively, offering talking therapy alongside gentle awareness of how emotions and experiences may show up in the body, such as tension, restlessness, or feeling disconnected. This is always optional and led by you, and introduced only if it feels helpful. Many clients find this approach supports a deeper sense of grounding, connection, and emotional resilience.
My journey into counselling was shaped by my own early experiences and personal therapy, which became a deeply meaningful process of healing and growth. This lived experience continues to inform how I work, allowing me to meet clients with empathy, authenticity, and an understanding of how vulnerable it can feel to seek support.
I am particularly drawn to working with individuals who feel affected by earlier life experiences that may still influence their present lives. These experiences can show up as anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or feelings of shame. My approach is always respectful, collaborative, and paced according to what feels safe and manageable for you.
Practice description
Integrative Therapy: Mind and Body in Harmony
I support my clients with care and compassion as they begin to build a more trusting and less overwhelming relationship with their emotions—if and when they feel ready. This process unfolds within the safety and containment of the therapeutic relationship, offering a secure space to explore their inner world at their own pace.
Through this work, clients often find greater autonomy and freedom in their decision-making and life choices. It also provides a framework for deepening their connection to themselves and others, fostering a sense of empowerment, clarity, and emotional resilience.
I offer both talking therapy and somatic therapy, creating a space where thoughts, emotions, and the embodied experience are all part of the healing process-research shows that true healing often needs to include the whole person, both mind and body.
That's because our bodies can hold onto stress, trauma, and emotional pain-even when we're not consciously aware of it. You might notice this as tension, restlessness, or feeling disconnected from yourself or as anxiety, worry, issues within relationship.
Somatic work is always guided by choice. If a narrative approach to therapy feels more appropriate for you, we can work in that way. Equally, if you would like to integrate gentle body awareness, this can be included at a pace that feels right for you.
.Fees & Accessibility
I aim to make counselling as accessible as possible while offering a consistent, professional service. My standard session fee is £60. I also offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces for individuals experiencing financial difficulty, subject to availability.
Session frequency can be flexible, and for some people attending bi-weekly or reviewing sessions regularly can make therapy more manageable. I’m always open to honest, respectful conversations about what feels sustainable for you.
My first session
A key part of the therapy process is working with a therapist who feels right for you. That’s why I offer an initial session—it’s a chance for us both to get a sense of each other. You’ll learn more about how I work, and I’ll learn more about your current situation and what’s brought you to therapy at this time.
This first meeting can help you decide whether I’m the right person to support you, and it also allows me to consider whether I’m best placed to help with the issues you’re facing. There’s no pressure—just an opportunity to explore whether this therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit.
