About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified therapist and accredited member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) with 10 years counselling experience working online nationally and in person in Liverpool and Merseyside.

As an experienced counsellor, I can help you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space and enable you to gain new insight, strength and direction for your life. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is key to successful counselling. By listening and understanding I aim to empower clients to identify their own solutions and work through their challenges. I’m passionate about helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing and supporting clients in becoming the best version of themselves.

Practice description

I currently work with people aged 16 and over, offering both short-term and long-term talking therapy. I am experienced in working with a wide variety of issues including stress, worry, anxiety and panic, anger, depression and low mood, bereavement and loss, relationships, separation or divorce, self-harm, domestic abuse, suicidal feelings, childhood and family issues, low confidence or self-esteem. I am aware how these issues can impact on our lives, our relationships and how we feel about ourselves.

I have experience of working with students and young adults living away from home for the first time. I am interested in and have experience working with gender and sexuality, and I work firmly within a gay/trans affirmative approach. I have worked with many clients who are exploring their gender, sexuality or who identify as LGBTQ+.

The basis of my work is Person-Centred which means I offer empathy, honesty, and unconditional positive regard. This approach can be beneficial in exploring and understanding your feelings and relationships with others. Counselling can be challenging but also rewarding and empowering, and it is important that you find a counsellor that you feel comfortable working with.
