About me and my therapy practice
You might feel as though you spend a lot of energy trying to get things right; thinking carefully about what to say, how to respond or how much of the real you is okay to show. On the outside you may seem calm and capable, while inside you feel overwhelmed, emotionally stretched or disconnected from yourself.
Many of the people I work with grew up feeling unseen, misunderstood or emotionally unsupported. Over time, this can lead to anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem or a sense of not quite knowing who you are beneath years of adapting, coping or staying invisible.
Practice description
I’m a psychodynamic counsellor offering in-person sessions in Chelmsford and Harlow. I work with adults who want to understand themselves on a deeper level and with those who feel stuck in long-standing emotional patterns shaped by early relationships or family dynamics.
My approach is warm, relational and non-judgemental. I don’t offer advice or tell you what you should do. Instead, I provide a space where you can slow things down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface and begin to reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or pushed aside.
My first session
Therapy with me doesn’t require you to have the right words or a clear plan. Sometimes we talk. Sometimes there’s quiet. Sometimes we might explore a dream, an image or a feeling that's hard to describe. We work at your pace, in a way that respects how you experience and process the world.
If you’re considering counselling but feel unsure, conflicted or worried about whether your difficulties are “bad" enough, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I offer a free 20-minute phone or video consultation where we can talk through what’s bringing you here and see whether working together feels right.
There’s no pressure to commit and no expectation that you’ll know exactly what to say. If reaching out feels difficult, that’s okay, many people feel that way. You don’t have to get it right. You just have to press send.
