About me and my therapy practice
Life can often feel like a knot that is difficult to untie. We all suffer from personal, emotional, and psychological issues at times; usually, we overcome these, but sometimes we get stuck, tangled up, and negatively affected. My primary goal as a counsellor is to provide a safe, confidential, and empathetic space where we can work together to straighten out those tangled thoughts.Practice description
My practice is diverse and welcoming to all. I offer specialised support for individuals and couples, providing a tailored approach to meet your specific needs. Here is what you can expect from my services:
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, and low self-esteem. We will work to identify the triggers of your distress and develop practical strategies to manage them.
ADDICTION SUPPORT (INCLUDING PORNOGRAPHY ADDICTION)
I have specific experience working with clients struggling with addiction, with a focus on pornography addiction. I understand that this can be an incredibly difficult and shameful topic to discuss. Please be assured that I offer a completely non-judgmental, confidential environment where we can address the root of the addiction and work towards breaking the cycle.
RELATIONSHIP & COUPLES THERAPY
Relationships can suffer for a variety of reasons, leading to conflict, "stonewalling," or a breakdown in communication. I help couples navigate these difficult periods. Together, we can highlight the causes of the issues, improve communication styles, and work towards amicable resolutions and a stronger partnership.
ISLAMICALLY INFORMED COUNSELLING
For clients who wish to incorporate their faith into their therapy, I offer Islamically informed counselling. This allows us to integrate psychological interventions with your spiritual values. However, this is entirely optional; my practice is open to people of all faiths and backgrounds.
Whether we are meeting in person or online, my aim is to help you achieve your goals and improve your overall well-being.
My first session
Starting therapy can be daunting, and finding the right counsellor is the most important step. To ensure we are a good fit, I offer an initial free telephone or online consultation. This gives us a chance to briefly discuss your needs and for you to ask any questions you might have about how I work.
If we decide to proceed, our first full session is primarily about information gathering and getting to know one another. We will explore your history, your current circumstances, and the specific issues that have brought you to counselling - whether that is anxiety, relationship issues, or addiction.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During this first session, we will:
Discuss confidentiality and how we will work together safely.
Explore your background to give context to your current struggles.
Identify your goals: What does "better" look like for you?
Agree on a preliminary plan for our work together.
There is no pressure to share everything immediately. The first session is done at your pace. My priority is to make you feel comfortable and heard. Whether you are coming as an individual or a couple, we will use this time to establish a foundation of trust so that we can begin the work of untangling your thoughts.
