About me and my therapy practice
From the first session we'll try to get an idea of the problem, or the problems, in order that we can at least organise the issues. This alone should start to have you feeling lighter and more regulated. And at the end of the day we do this on trust that these issues matter to you in some way. It's not that they shouldn't matter, it's just organising what you care about here and why. This is often in tune with your core values, who you are.
Mental health issues that are based on a mind/body disregulation. And when I say mind/body, I mean ultimately, and this can happen over time, living at odds with ourselves. It's like there's a split between what the back of your mind is trying to alert you towards, and how you're receiving that at the front of your mind. It's not necessarily that your own mind is tormenting you, it's rather sending you direct and indirect messages in tune with what you actually value and want more.
But yes you might already be heavily deenergised or at the mercy of too many distraction/addiction issues. We're not getting rid of any part of you here. It'll always be available to you. But we are gonna look at least curbing the worst of these proclivities, which are likely only having you go round in circles trying to keep away from a place that feels dark, so we can let your light shine through.
You'll have a different relationship with what feels adverse at that point. Feeling clearer and more confident.
Practice description
So we'll work at getting to understand some key links between what's happening for you at present and that of which is likely still following you unorganised from the past, hence your trigger factors.
It's not like we have to discuss everything related to the past, but it's to make the connections to the point they go beyond a dispensable theory, which won't be enough for you when you're amidst any distress, discombobulation or particularly low energy. This means we're trying to get into something equating emotional engagement. When we can do that, you've simply a better relationship with your bodily emotions. And why is this important? It's because you're never reacting to your thoughts and thoughts alone, they always need an emotion to have you care about something. The idea is that you're not just trying to come out of an emotion, but to work with it instead.
I'm not a purist. I'm really a pragmatist. So you'll always have all your own coping mechanisms, and you can still use them, we might get better ones. But if we make the connections well enough in our sessions, you won't really need them, or you'll need them less. You'll be more naturally inclined to observe and experience instead. You'll feel naturally happier in your own skin, but yes there is a part of this process that'll necessarily have us getting to know who you are - for immediately better and worse. But then everything loosens towards a more succinct and unified end. Life will flow better and feel easier.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi there thanks for stopping by. It is my passion to help you organise a problem in your life that's giving you a lot of stuckness or fear right now. This will help to loosen up your mind and body, as well as encouraging you to get better at talking about the problem, as this can end up being half the solution itself. The biggest problem tends to be where something remains unorganised and cluttered in your mind. This is because the back of your mind has already determined it matters to you in some way, and this process will be about getting you better at bringing this to the front of your mind and deciding what to do with it.
This will curb an excessive proclivity to overthink and distract yourself, including loosening the hold of any addiction, ADHD, anxiety and depressive issues. Gradually we're going to get you to stop fighting the mind you have, but work with it instead. Whilst you're a world of possibility, you will default for the most part where your core values lie.
But your core values and traumas are one and the same. They're a necessary symbiosis. You can't understand one without the other. Simply put, there's an essence to who you are. You'll share similar, aforementioned, proclivities to everyone else, but not in the same way. It's important we get to understand your own unique lens to how you interpret the world.
Practice description
From the first session we'll try to get to know the problem. Sometimes it's just a case of getting out what's on the top of your mind and the more we unravel the clearer certain themes will emerge. Often it's the case that a problem discussed well can be half the solution itself. It's not just changing your relationship with the thoughts, but moreover the emotions they give you. There's always a reason you've developed the relationship with certain emotions in the way you have. It's not necessarily a case of getting rid of them, but a realignment of your own philosophy around them, especially when you come to realise how you've been shaped by them for better and worse, can actually give you a lot of gold and greater fluidity in your life and thinking. Succinctly put, you'll worry less and have greater confidence.
It's not that things shouldn't matter to you. Yes you're gonna feel pain around certain situations still. But it's unlocking something essential within yourself when it comes to not just coping with this pain better, but actually to move with it more as a guiding light in your life, rather than finding yourself going round in circles trying to escape what only seems to feel dark about it.
Change is not transformation. It's expansion. There's no need to get rid of the old you or your old way of coping. You can't anyway and you might still need that part of you going forward. It's just that you don't want to be stuck with one way of coping, fundamentally. Because this will remain a vicious cycle. Instead, we're effectively trying to open out the other 20-30% of your own mind (the deeper part of your own unconscious which has always been recording), in order you can find confidence from living by the heart (gut) more. This will free your mind as you'll come to accept that you don't need to free yourself from your own mind. As in you'll feel easier with solving what matters to you from it, at your own pace, and the rest of the time you're able to observe emotion.
