About me and my therapy practice

If you’ve reached this page, you may be wondering whether counselling could help you and that in itself is a meaningful first step.

It can take courage to consider opening up about what’s on your mind and what may be happening in or around your life.

I’m here to offer a warm, respectful and confidential space where you can be heard without judgement.

I’m an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy which means I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and meet professional standards in training, practice, supervision and ongoing development.

Practice description

Counselling can be helpful when life feels overwhelming, confusing or emotionally painful, or when you simply want to understand yourself better. My approach is compassionate, collaborative and non-judgemental. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to support you in exploring what is happening for you and what you need.

I work at a pace that feels right for you and aim to help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Together, we can look at what has brought you to therapy and what might help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence and self-compassion.

I support adults and young adults with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, stress, low mood, trauma, relationship difficulties, identity and self-esteem issues and life transitions particularly around education and employment.

What you can expect:

- A safe and supportive space where you won’t be judged

- Therapy shaped around your needs and goals

- An integrative approach informed by humanistic and solution-focused ways of working

- Time to reflect, explore and better understand yourself

- A respectful and confidential therapeutic relationship

My first session

I offer a free 15minute conversation or if you would prefer, an initial 50-minute session at a reduced fee of £35, giving us both the chance to see if we’re a good fit without obligation to continue.

In this appointment, we can discuss what brings you to therapy, your preferences, and any previous counselling experiences.

This initial session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and to reflect before deciding whether you’d like to begin ongoing sessions.

Following the initial consultation, weekly counselling sessions last 50 minutes, booked a week in advance and will usually cost £65.
