How I Work

I offer both face-to-face and online therapy, giving you the flexibility to choose the way of working that feels most comfortable and suits your individual circumstances and lifestyle.

We can work together to find an approach that feels right for you. Sometimes that may mean meeting face-to-face in my quiet, confidential practice in Godalming, while at other times online therapy may offer greater flexibility around work, family or other commitments.

I believe everyone can benefit from therapy. You don’t need to be in crisis or struggling with a particular diagnosis to seek support. Sometimes therapy is simply a space to pause, reflect, understand yourself more deeply and make sense of where you are in life.

You can come to therapy because something feels difficult, because you feel stuck or overwhelmed, or simply because you want to understand yourself and your relationships better.

Therapy is not just about getting through a crisis — it can also be about creating a life that feels more balanced, meaningful and authentically yours.

About me and my therapy practice

Experienced Psychotherapist | Supporting Children, Young People & Adults

I am an experienced psychotherapist working with both children and adults  experiencing mental health issues, serious illness, bereavement and palliative care.

I use traditional talking therapy alongside creative approaches, adapting our work to your needs and circumstances. Together, we can explore what is troubling you, understand patterns and experiences, and develop healthier ways of coping and moving forward.

I support clients with anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, anger, trauma, emotional overwhelm, bereavement, sudden loss, miscarriage, life-changing illness and pain. I also support clients experiencing suicidal thoughts or self-harm, creating a safe, non-judgemental space in which difficult feelings can be explored.

I have specialist training with Relate in couples counselling and relationship work, supporting individuals and couples through difficulties in marriage, partnerships, friendships and family relationships. I am also trained in neuro therapy model incorporating therapeutic and mindful techniques that may help with pain, anxiety and trauma.

Neurodiversity & Sensitivity

Neurodiversity is an area of particular interest and experience. I work with clients with autism, dyslexia, cognitive dyspraxia and other disabilities.

I also have particular understanding of highly sensitive people who may experience sensory overload, emotional intensity, exhaustion or feeling “different”. With greater self-understanding and the right environment, sensitivity can become a strength.

Bereavement, Illness & Trauma

I have extensive experience supporting individuals and families affected by cancer and other life-changing illnesses, alongside specialist bereavement training. My previous work as a Victim Support counsellor provided experience supporting both men and women following assault and trauma.

My first session

What to Expect From Your First Session

Before your first session, I will send you a small number of forms to complete. These help me understand a little about you and ensure that we have the appropriate information in place before we begin our work together.

The first session is often an opportunity to slow down and explore what is happening for you now, what has brought you to therapy, and what you would like to be different.

Sometimes, simply having the opportunity to talk openly with someone who is trained to listen — without judgement or expectation — can be incredibly helpful. It can give you space to make sense of thoughts and feelings that may have felt difficult, confusing or overwhelming.

I have experienced therapy myself, both personally and as part of my professional training, so I understand that beginning counselling can feel quite daunting. I also bring my own experience of life, relationships and family, which helps me approach my work with warmth, empathy and understanding.

Therapy isn’t about me giving you answers, solutions or advice. It is about working together, at your pace, to understand you and your experiences. We may explore things from the past that continue to affect you, understand patterns in the present and find new ways of coping and moving forward.

There is no expectation that you will have everything worked out before you arrive. You simply need to bring yourself. We can begin from there.
