About me and my therapy practice
I am a trauma-informed therapist specialising in EMDR and parts-based work with people affected by complex trauma. I have a particular interest in dissociation, dissociative parts, attachment trauma and emotional regulation difficulties including presentations such as CPTSD, BPD and dissociative disorders.
My work focuses on helping people make sense of their internal experience, reduce trauma-related symptoms and feel more stable and connected over time.
I offer a calm, structured and collaborative space where difficult experiences can be explored at a pace that feels manageable and safe. I place strong emphasis on stabilisation, emotional regulation and readiness for trauma processing.
I work in a thoughtful and well-boundaried way, tailoring therapy to you as an individual.
Practice description
I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy, depending on your needs, goals and circumstances. Some people come with a specific focus they want to work on; others are looking for support with ongoing difficulties. We will talk together about what feels realistic and helpful for you.
EMDR is a central part of my work. I use it to reduce trauma-related symptoms and to help experiences feel less overwhelming and intrusive. We will always focus first on preparation and stabilisation so that the work feels manageable and safe.
Sessions are structured and focused, while remaining flexible to what you bring on the day. I work collaboratively and will be clear with you about how I am thinking about the work and what options are available.
I am to offer therapy that is effective, contained and respectful of both your emotional capacity and practical considerations such as time and cost.
My first session
The first session is an assessment session. We will talk about what has brought you to therapy, your current difficulties and what you are hoping for from the work. I will also explain how I work and answer any questions you may have.
This session is an opportunity to begin making sense of what is going on for you and to think together about how we might work with these difficulties. We may start to identify areas of focus and consider a possible plan for therapy, but there is no expectation to go into anything you are not ready for.
The first session is also a chance for you to see whether working with me feels right for you.
