About me and my therapy practice

I offer one-to-one therapeutic coaching - online and face to face in Harrogate, North Yorkshire - helping you move from awareness and understanding to meaningful change.

Therapeutic coaching brings together the depth of counselling and the forward focus of coaching. It offers the empathy, insight and therapeutic experience to meet you where you are, and the practical tools and techniques to help you move toward where you want to be.

Most people come because they want change, not just insight - a clearer sense of direction, momentum and possibility in their lives. We can read all the books and gain a great deal of understanding, but unless we start taking action, life doesn't always make the shifts we want.

I am dual qualified as a counsellor and coach, and a Registered Member of the BACP. I have many years of experience working with adults and young people, both online and in person in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Practice description

I am a therapeutic coach, combining my training in both counselling and coaching to offer a way of working that is both reflective and forward-focused.

Sessions are structured, collaborative and psychologically informed. We explore what is happening in your thoughts, emotions and patterns, while also focusing on how you can begin to respond differently and take steps forward in a way that feels manageable and sustainable.

My approach is integrative, drawing on CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), solution-focused therapy, positive psychology and person-centred practice. I adapt how I work depending on what feels most helpful for you at any given point.

I have a particular interest in ACT, which offers a different way of working with thoughts and emotions — especially helpful if more traditional approaches such as CBT haven't quite resonated.

This way of working is most effective when you feel ready to take some ownership of your wellbeing — not necessarily having all the answers, but open to taking small steps toward change.

I work regularly in supervision to maintain the quality and safety of my practice. I have supported individuals through AXA Health, Childline, Relate, JustB, Place2Be, Spectrum Life and The Harlow Therapy & Coaching.

I work with adults and young people in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and online, experiencing a range of difficulties including:

Stress, anxiety and overthinking

Low confidence or self-doubt

Life transitions or uncertainty

Unhelpful patterns or habits

Feeling stuck or lacking direction

Inner criticism or imposter feelings

Many people who come to me prefer a structured approach whilst still having a safe, supportive space to process what's going on. Others have already been to therapy and are looking for something more future and action focused.

I always encourage an initial conversation as a first step — a free, no-obligation call where you can ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide whether this feels like the right support for you.

There is no pressure to commit. It is simply a chance for us to connect, for me to understand a little about what has brought you here, and for you to get a feel for my approach before deciding how you'd like to proceed.
