Availability
At the moment I have private practice on weekday evenings due to working in a school during the day time. However, I am going fully self-employed at the end of April 2026 which means I will be able to expand my private practice and my availability to see clients will considerably widen.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi there! My name is Hayley and I am a therapist who specialises in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. As well as this I am a qualified Counselling Supervisor working with adult supervisees who work therapeutically with CYP, adults, and couples.
I am passionate about giving a voice to my clients and am dedicated to ensuring that they feel valued and respected throughout their time in therapy and are given the opportunities to share their experiences freely and feel heard and listened to.
As an Integrative therapist I work Humanistically and centre my practice around:
- Person-Centred therapy
- Solution-Focused therapy
- Creative and Play therapy when her clients seek a more activity-based approach.
- Psychodynamic therapy
- Gestalt therapy
- Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy techniques/principles
- Family therapy
Nevertheless, although the approach we use in therapy is important, the therapeutic relationship between you and myself is at the centre. I will ensure that you feel safe and comfortable in our sessions. I provide all of my clients with a safe and supportive therapeutic space to talk about their experiences and express their thoughts and feelings freely and without judgement. Sessions are catered to my clients' age and stage of development, individual needs, and goals for therapy.
Practice description
I have been providing one-to-one therapy to children, adolescents, young adults, and families for over 8 years.
I am fully equipped to deal with safeguarding concerns that might arise in counselling work. I work in-line with all relevant policies, procedures and statutory guidance required to protect children and young people from harm.
I am currently working towards my Accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) (February 2026-August 2026)
Having worked in schools for over 8 years, I have wealth of theoretical knowledge and practical experience working in a supportive role with neurodivergent individuals. I myself am neurodivergent and have first-hand experience of the challenges this can bring and recognise how easy it is to focus on the deficits. Therefore, when working with neurodivergent clients I supports them to validate their emotions and process the experiences they found difficult; yet an integral part of my neurodivergent-affirming practice is to help clients recognise their many strengths and talents so to develop their sense of belonging, self-worth and confidence.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and therefore follow the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, including respecting confidentiality. My BACP registration number is 381360. To further ensure I am practicing safely, I have indemnity insurance and fortnightly supervision.
My first session
In our first session together we will explore together what you need from therapy and any goals you might want to set for yourself. We will go through contracting and my role as a therapist to adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework.
During my work with children, adolescents and families I will have the first session with the CYP, and then usually have a follow-up conversation with parents to discuss limits of confidentiality, yet that their child's space is there's to use in whatever way they need to and I will only discuss their sessions, with their child's consent.
