About me and my therapy practice
Looking for a therapist who is a good fit for you can be a daunting process. You might be struggling with anxiety or depression, or uncertain about what exactly you are feeling. I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation to help determine whether I would be a suitable therapist for your needs.
As an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, I create a safe, helping space in which we can explore the issues that have led you to seek support through therapy.
I will focus on helping you understand and address any difficulties that you are experiencing in the present in your life, emotions, and relationships.
I will use and adapt a range of approaches such as humanistic and psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), inner child work, cognitive and dialectical behavioural therapy (CBT/DBT), and trauma-informed therapy to find what works best for you.
In addition, I use somatic approaches to work with creating a sense of bodily safety in the nervous system, which is particularly important in clients with anxiety or who have suffered trauma.
I aim to leave you with a tool-kit of knowledge and techniques to take away to help you continue feeling well after the therapy has finished.
I am an LGBTQIA+ friendly therapist.
I offer online and telephone therapy.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and are usually weekly. Online sessions are by Zoom or Skype.
My first session
Please contact me by email to arrange a free 20-minute session to explore what brings you to therapy and help you decide whether I am the right therapist to help you at this time.
If you would like to continue therapy after the first session, we will arrange a weekly slot at a regular time, for an initial number of sessions after which we will review how the therapy is working and whether you wish to continue.
