About me and my therapy practice
I will provide a warm, welcoming, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to explore all parts of yourself safely and at a pace that's right for you. Working together, you will experience a compassionate space to allow you to explore different elements of yourself and your concerns.
I believe that individuals have the capacity to create amazing, inspiring changes in their lives, and I take a collaborative approach, working with you as an individual, to ensure the best possible outcome. I will do my best to listen to your thoughts and feelings, in order to understand the full story before exploring patterns and examining the issues at hand together.
I specialise in working with adult survivors of difficult or traumatic childhoods. Maybe something happened when you were young, or you experienced a parent who was emotionally absent or neglectful in some way, and you notice that shaped the way that you see yourself and the world, and has an impact on you in your adult life and relationships. Maybe your parent struggled with their own mental health issues, substance abuse or narcissism. Therapy can give you the time and space to explore this safely and begin to understand the impact that this has on your world.
I have experience around counselling for depression and anxiety, bereavement, relationships and self-confidence and extended training and experience around parenting issues (particularly teenagers), drugs, alcohol and cross-cultural issues.
Practice description
I take a pluralistic approach to our work. This means that I'm trained in lots of different approaches, like ACT and IFS - sometimes we'll just talk things through, and at other times, we might work in a more creative or directive way, to get the most out of our time together.
We will work at a pace that suits you, in order to access the support that you need. It may be that something has happened that you need help dealing with, or there might be a long-term, ongoing issue that you would like to address. We will work together to support your emotional and psychological needs.
I am based in Barkingside in east London, and on zoom
My first session
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I know that people can find the experience scary, but I'll do my best to help you feel comfortable and at ease. We'll also get into the work straight away, if that feels appropriate, so the first session will be as useful as possible.
