About me and my therapy practice

My work as a Child and Adolescent  Therapist (7 - 28 yrs) is a practical, attachment focused, trauma informed and creatively developed specialism to children &young adults in difficulty .

I really understand that some children  or young people have big feelings or emotional experiences that impact their capaciry to trust, feel confident or be as  socially engaged as they once were. Alongside this, changing behaviour can be challenging or ' out of sync' with family members, peers, or adults in the relational environment of education.I  seek to build relationships that meet the indiviual needs of a child/ young person from where they are today -  and specifically  so.

How sessions may work:

If appropriate,  I can offer range of the latest child and young adult therapeutic interventions, including;  creativity (drawing and image making)  aspects of play , talk, psycho education (about our brains and bodies in survival modes) and centrally, attachment focused interventions

All children and young people are invited to express whatever is important to them, without judgement. Sessions travel at clients pace and we may explore experiences and the meanings of them sensitively.  If appropriate, I can also offer additional school or professional link up so that the needs and safety of a child/young person in difficulty is joined up and thought about in different ways with family and external parties.
