Hi, how are you doing?

I am excited to be offering online and telephone counselling. Meeting online can save us time, hassle, and expense. It may also make counselling available if you would otherwise find it hard to access a physical service.

What we can build together is a protected time in your week.

You can have a time and space to talk, think and feel your way through what is going on for you. Through the welter of events that life is throwing at you. You will hear yourself say out loud what is on your mind and maybe you will return to the rest of your life that bit clearer about things.

This is what I want for you. Your protected time to be yourself and explore what is on your mind.

My experience as a counsellor suggests that this protected time works as well for six sessions just as it works for six months. It is entirely about what you need.

Now, it can feel a bit strange to seek out a counselling relationship: but there may be something liberating about talking to me as someone who has no other involvement in your life.

Practice description

So, your sessions are for you to voice whatever is on your mind. I will listen to you. No judgement. No agenda.

This is your time, and it will be a safe space where you can speak in confidence. We will work together to explore your concerns. This is teamwork. We are on the same side, trying to make life better for you.

There are two options to consider.

A time-limited approach with an agreed number of sessions: six or twelve perhaps. You may have a specific focus. A particular issue you want to address. Or maybe not.

A more open-ended arrangement that supports you through times ahead. We will have review points to make sure this is working for you. 

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute Zoom session as an introduction. We can meet to explore your concerns and you get the chance to step away from that session and decide whether you would like to go ahead.

If you would like to work together there is no escaping the need for admin before our first session. But that is where it belongs: before. I will take you through that when you get in touch.

Experience suggests that where we start may not be that important since where we start is often quickly left behind. Soon, we will have a sense of not only what is going on for you but what else is really going on for you.

My hope for our first session is that you feel heard. Perhaps that you have been understood a little. There may be some rapport. A sense that this process could work for you. That protected time is worth having.
