About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Sharon Robson, and I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor based in Castlewellan, Co. Down, offering online counselling throughout the UK.

Life can feel difficult or overwhelming at times, and sometimes having someone to talk to who will genuinely listen can make a real difference.

I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental online space where you can explore whatever is happening in your life at your own pace.

Reflect. Reset. Reconnect.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on your individual needs. This includes Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT can be particularly helpful in exploring unhelpful thought patterns, behaviours and beliefs, while developing practical ways to manage difficulties and create positive change.

Counselling is not one-size-fits-all. I work collaboratively with you and tailor each session around your needs, whether you are looking for short-term support with a particular issue or longer-term counselling to explore deeper experiences and patterns.

Throughout my counselling career, I have supported people with a wide range of difficulties, including:

Anxiety and worry

Depression and low mood

Stress and feeling overwhelmed

Low self-esteem and confidence

Loss and bereavement

Relationship and family difficulties

Trauma and difficult life experiences

Life changes and personal challenges

I hold a First Class Honours Degree in Counselling and Communication from Ulster University and a Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

I provide one-to-one counselling online via Zoom, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Sometimes change begins by simply giving yourself the space to talk.

Reflect. Reset. Reconnect.

Practice description

I offer online one-to-one counselling via Zoom, providing a flexible way to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

My approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to you. I do not believe that one way of working suits everyone, so we will explore what feels most helpful for you and work at a pace that feels comfortable.

Our first sessions will give us time to talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you would like support with and what you hope to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to have everything figured out before you begin.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside other approaches where appropriate. This means sessions may include space to talk and reflect, as well as more practical CBT strategies to help you understand patterns of thinking, feelings and behaviour.

Some clients come to counselling with a specific issue they would like to work through, while others may simply know that something does not feel right. Both are completely okay.

Sessions are led by your individual needs. We can work on a short-term basis or continue for longer if this feels beneficial, and we can review our work together as counselling progresses.

My aim is to offer a supportive relationship where you feel listened to, respected and able to explore your experiences without judgement, while working towards greater understanding, confidence and positive change.

Reflect. Reset. Reconnect.

My first session

Your first counselling session will include an initial assessment, giving us time to explore what has brought you to counselling, any current difficulties you are experiencing and what you would like to gain from our work together.

We will also discuss your counselling agreement, confidentiality and its limits, how online sessions will work, and any questions or concerns you may have.

The assessment helps me gain a better understanding of your individual needs and allows us to begin identifying what may be most helpful for you. It is not a test, and there is no pressure to share anything before you feel ready.

We can also discuss whether you are looking for short-term or longer-term support and agree together on the focus of our sessions.

The first session is charged at the same rate as subsequent counselling sessions.
