About me and my therapy practice

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel listened to and understood. I know that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, so I aim to make our sessions feel comfortable and safe from the beginning.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I don’t believe there is a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Everyone is different, and I will work with you as an individual, adapting our sessions to what feels most helpful for you. I won’t tell you what you should do or judge you for how you feel. Instead, we can work together to explore what is happening for you and what you would like to change.

Sometimes we need space simply to talk and be heard. At other times, it can be helpful to explore where feelings or patterns have come from and develop new ways of understanding and coping. We can do this gently and at a pace that feels right for you.

I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to listen, ask questions, offer a different perspective when helpful, and support you in making sense of your experiences.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, lost or simply know that something needs to change, counselling can give you the time and space to understand yourself better and begin to move forward.

I offer face-to-face counselling in St Neots and Eaton Socon, as well as online counselling.

Practice description

I offer counselling to adults and young people aged 12+ from my welcoming counselling spaces in St Neots and Eaton Socon, as well as online.

I work with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, trauma, PTSD, grief and bereavement, relationship difficulties and low self-esteem. You may be dealing with a particular issue, going through a difficult period, or simply feel that something in your life needs to change. You don’t need to know exactly what you need help with before getting in touch.

Face-to-face appointments are available Tuesday and Wednesday in St Neots, near the town centre, and Thursday in Eaton Socon, generally between 10am and 7pm. Online appointments are also available; please call to check current availability, as my diary is updated regularly.

My first session

Your first session is the beginning of your therapy and is a full 50-minute session at my standard session rate. We’ll start with an assessment covering your health and wellbeing, before gently exploring some of the reasons you’ve decided to come to counselling and what you would like to get from our work together.

We’ll also talk about any previous experience you may have had with counselling or therapy. If you’ve found therapy helpful before, it can be useful to understand what worked well for you. Equally, if something didn’t feel right or wasn’t helpful, I want to understand that too, so we can avoid repeating those experiences wherever possible.

There is no expectation that you will have everything worked out or know exactly what your goals are. The first session gives us time to begin understanding what is happening for you and what you might need from counselling.

Before booking your first session, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This is an opportunity to ask any questions, tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling and get a feel for whether I might be the right counsellor for you. There is absolutely no obligation to book following the call.

I do encourage giving therapy a genuine opportunity once we begin. However, if you have concerns at any point — including about our work together — I’m very open to talking about them. I believe those conversations have an important place in the therapy room.

About me and my therapy practice

My approach to supervision is warm, supportive and collaborative. I aim to create a space where you can think openly about your work, reflect on your practice and feel able to bring both the things that are going well and the things you may be finding difficult.

I believe good supervision is not about having all the answers. It is about having the space to step back, think things through and develop your confidence as a practitioner. I’ll encourage you to explore your clinical thinking, your use of self, boundaries, ethical considerations and any feelings or reactions that arise in your work.

I work in an integrative way and will adapt supervision to you, your experience and how you learn best. I value curiosity and honest reflection, and I’m comfortable having conversations when something doesn’t feel right or needs further exploration.

My role is to support, challenge and encourage you while helping you remain responsible for your own practice. I want supervision to feel useful, relevant and connected to the work you are actually doing, rather than simply something you have to attend.

Practice description

I offer supervision for counsellors and therapists, providing a confidential space to reflect on your client work, develop your practice and support your ongoing professional development.

Supervision can include exploring clinical work, therapeutic relationships, ethical and professional issues, boundaries, risk, self-care and the impact of the work on you as a practitioner. There is also space to think about your development, confidence and any areas where you may feel stuck or uncertain.

I aim to offer supervision that is supportive but also appropriately challenging. You can bring the work you are finding straightforward, as well as the clients, situations or decisions that leave you questioning yourself.

My supervision is informed by my own integrative counselling practice, and I understand the importance of having a supervisor who can offer both support and a different perspective while respecting your autonomy as a practitioner.

Sessions are tailored to your needs and experience, whether you are newly qualified, developing your practice or more established.

Before starting supervision, I offer a free telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what you are looking for from supervision, ask any questions and decide whether I might be the right supervisor for you.

My first session

It is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and talk about what you would like from supervision. I’ll ask about any previous experience of supervision, what you found helpful or less helpful, how you like to work and reflect, and what helps you get the most from supervision.

I’ll also share some information about how I was trained and my approach to supervision, so you have a clear sense of how I work and what you can expect from me.

There is no pressure to have everything figured out from the beginning. We can talk openly about what you need from supervision and develop the way we work together over time.

I also offer a free telephone consultation before starting supervision. This is a chance to talk about what you are looking for, ask any questions and get a feel for whether I might be the right supervisor for you. There is no obligation to book following the call.
