About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Jo, and I am a fully qualified and Accredited counsellor working from a person-centred approach. Simply put, this means that you are at the heart of the work we do together.
I work from a trauma-informed perspective and have supported people from the ages of 8 to 88 with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, grief, loss, depression, trauma, abuse, and many of life’s other challenges.
It is a privilege to walk beside you on your journey as you work to understand and find acceptance in the worries that bring you to therapy.
I believe that, with the right support and space to explore your experiences, you can move towards where you would like to be. Sometimes understanding what has happened before finding counselling can help make sense of where you are now, and together, we can work at a pace that feels right for you.
I am qualified to facilitate telephone, virtual or F2F therapy, Including outdoor talking sessions.
My first session
Prior to our first session together, I will offer you a free 30 minute consultation which will take place over telephone or virtual platform. ( Which ever is your preference)
It allows us time to get to know each other a little, and for me to establish how I can best support you. we can diaccus the options available and how you would like them to take place.
On our first session, I am aware it can feel a little daunting to make that step and attend. It is not as scary as your mind may lead you to believe and my aim is to ensure that we spend that time working with how you feel and what you would like to discuss with the knowledge that the space is a judgement free zone.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi my name is Jo and I am a qualified Therapeutic Supervisor, alongside my counselling work. I offer clinical supervision to both qualified and trainee counsellors.
My approach to supervision is supportive, collaborative, and grounded in a person-centred and trauma-informed perspective. I aim to provide a safe, reflective space where you can explore your client work openly, develop your confidence, and feel supported in both your professional and personal growth.
I value authenticity, compassion, and curiosity within the supervisory relationship, and I believe good supervision should both support and gently challenge you while keeping client wellbeing at the centre of the work.
I welcome supervisees from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience, and I strive to create a warm, respectful environment where you feel heard, valued, and able to grow in your practice.
Practice description
Having a supervisor who is there to support, encourage and reassure where necessary is so important.
My aim in supervisory practise is to ensure you have the opportunity to explore, in depth, your case load, your relational experiences and the experiences in your counselling work. As in counselling, a space that offers safe exploration, zero judgement and nothing but bundles of belief in you and your practise.
I work from a humanistic/Person centered modality and have vast experience in working with vilnerable client groups I cluding children and young people through to vulnerable adults.

Prior to our first supervision i will give you a call (or virtual call), if preferred. There will no charge for this.
This will allow us to discuss your caseload briefly, where you are in your career journey and how hest I can support you.
This will also give me opportunity to create and provide all required documentation and contracting requirements so that we are both prepared ahead of our first session.
