About me and my therapy practice
All my work in Scotland is currently offered online only. Having worked almost exclusively by Zoom since March 2020, I choose to continue now as I can say it has proved to be a fruitful and helpful method of counselling. Some clients also appreciate the logistical benefits of reduced childcare and travelling worries.
Although Zoom is my main platform, I also work by telephone or email if you prefer.
I’m a specifically qualified relationships counsellor and I work with couples and with individuals who are worried about their relationships. Maybe there’s a feeling of growing apart and losing the ability to communicate, maybe there are hot arguments, or cold silences or there’s been an affair, maybe not. Everyone’s experience is different.
I always listen to you carefully and empathically. By helping you to find new ways to be heard by your partner, you can both discover what you need emotionally and you can ease the pain and disconnection of communication difficulties. I can help you to do this, to understand what has caused the issues and then to work together towards a solution that’s right for you.
Finding closeness and that sense of belonging again can improve not only your relationship but other difficulties in life also.
I offer personal warmth to create a feeling of acceptance and safety in our sessions.
As a registered member of BACP I want to enable you to feel listened to and understood. This safe, non-judgmental time allows you to work through problems with my support.
Practice description
I trained and worked with Relationships Scotland as a couples counsellor and work with couples and individuals over the age of 18. Counselling can be about relationships issues and can also help with issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, grief and loss of many kinds.
Subsequently, I worked for Relate, the national relationships counselling service and now focus on private practice, allowing flexibility with my availability and scheduling frequency.
I am trained in coaching as well as counselling and if you are interested in what counselling or coaching can offer, please get in touch.
My first session
Thinking about coming for counselling can be daunting and you will want to know if it's right for you and if the therapist is right for you.
This is why I offer a free initial 10-15 minute chat on the phone, first. This lets you give me an idea of the issues that you'd like to resolve and you can ask me questions about what counselling involves. It also lets you (both, if it's couples counselling) get a feel for what it would be like to work with me and we can see if it feels like a good fit. There's no obligation to go forward if you're unsure.

About me and my therapy practice
COVID 19 update: Face to face is back. In line with the BACP guidelines I offer in-person therapy as well as continuing online, where my main platform is by Zoom although I can offer telephone and email sessions if you prefer.
Having worked almost exclusively by Zoom since March 2020 I choose to continue now as I can say it has proved to be a fruitful and helpful method of counselling and offers practical and logistical benefits to many clients, saving on childcare arrangements and travelling time.
I’m a qualified Relate counsellor and work with couples and with individuals who are worried about their relationships. Maybe there’s a feeling of growing apart and losing the ability to communicate, maybe there are hot arguments, or cold silences, or there’s been an affair, maybe not. Everyone’s experience is different.
I always listen to you carefully and empathically. By helping you to find new ways to be heard by your partner, you can both discover what you need emotionally and you can ease the pain and disconnection of difficult communication. I can help you to do this, to understand what has caused the issues and then to work together towards a solution that’s right for you.
Finding closeness and that sense of belonging again can improve not only your relationship but other difficulties in life also.
I offer personal warmth to create a feeling of acceptance and safety in our sessions.
