About me and my therapy practice

So often, we tell ourselves to "just get on with it" or "try harder". But sometimes, what we really need is the space to slow down, make sense of our experiences, and understand why we feel the way we do.

You may have spent years putting everyone else's needs before your own, coping as best you can, or wondering why the same thoughts, feelings or relationship patterns keep repeating. On the outside, you may appear to be managing, while inside you feel overwhelmed, exhausted or stuck.

I know that starting therapy can feel like a big step. My aim is to offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you feel safe to be yourself.

Together, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you. We’ll make sense of what is happening in your life now, while exploring how past experiences and relationships may be influencing the way you think, feel and respond today. We'll also consider the ways you have learned to protect yourself and whether those patterns still serve you.

Every person is unique, so I draw on person-centred and psychodynamic approaches to tailor our work together to your individual needs.

I won't tell you what to do or offer quick fixes. Instead, I'll work alongside you as you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, helping you build greater self-awareness, self-compassion and confidence to make choices that feel right for you.

Whether you're feeling anxious, struggling in your relationships, grieving a loss, navigating a life transition, living with low self-esteem or simply feeling overwhelmed, my hope is that therapy helps you feel more connected to yourself and better equipped to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Above all, I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful counselling. Together, we'll create a space where you feel heard, understood and supported as you work towards meaningful, lasting change.

Practice description

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and it's important that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with. I aim to provide a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel able to talk openly, at a pace that feels right for you.

Our first meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, explore what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from it, and whether we feel like the right fit. There is no pressure to share everything straight away. Building trust takes time, and we'll work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling for adults, either online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, or face-to-face in South London. Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly, although we can discuss an approach that best suits your needs and circumstances.

Throughout our work together, we'll regularly review how you're finding therapy and whether it's meeting your goals. As your needs change, we'll adapt our work together to ensure it continues to feel helpful and relevant.

Everyone’s story is different, so I tailor therapy to you rather than following a set formula. Whether you’re seeking support with a current difficulty or hoping to understand long-standing patterns, my aim is to help you feel heard, understood and supported throughout the process.

Choosing a counsellor is an important decision and finding someone you feel comfortable with matters. If you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial consultation, I'd be happy to hear from you.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so it’s important to feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with. I offer a free 20-minute online introductory consultation to help us decide whether working together feels right.

During this consultation, we’ll talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from counselling, and any questions you may have. It is a chance for us to get to know each other and consider whether we are a good fit, with no obligation to continue.

If you decide to continue, we’ll agree on a regular day and time for your sessions before arranging your first appointment. I’ll also ask you to complete some initial forms and share a few personal details, so everything is in place and I can better understand your circumstances and support needs.

Whether you are seeking short-term support for a specific issue or longer-term therapy to explore more deeply rooted patterns, we’ll work together to decide what best meets your needs.

I offer counselling online via Zoom and face-to-face in South London. Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly, although we’ll discuss and agree on a frequency that feels most appropriate for you.

Throughout our work together, we’ll regularly review how you are finding therapy and whether it continues to meet your goals. Our sessions will remain collaborative and focused on what matters most to you.

Choosing the right counsellor matters. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a free introductory consultation, I’d be happy to hear from you.
