I'm a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I trained as an integrative counsellor at UWE and the University of South Wales. I'm now in my 5th year of private practice. Previously, I worked as a volunteer counsellor at Newport Mind and Knowle West Health Association in Bristol. I have also been a volunteer listener with Bristol Samaritans for the past 18 years.
Counselling is my second career. In my ealier working life I worked with students in universities in Birmingham and Reading, followed by 14 years in secondary schools in Bristol.
I work Mondays to Wednesdays and I currently have availability on all 3 days.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer in-person counselling and can accommodate online sessions on an occasional basis. I work from home in central Bristol, close to the BRI. I currently have availability on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
I'm ready to help you overcome issues you may have around valuing yourself so that you have greater self-confidence and a more positive outlook on your life. My counselling approach puts you at the centre and I aim to help you have more self-compassion and a clearer focus on the choices you have in your life. I'm committed to offering a service which is welcoming to people from all backgrounds in a supportive and non-discriminatory way.
Practice description
I'm committed to offering a service which is welcoming to people from all backgrounds in a supportive, non-discriminatory and non-judgmental way. I'm ready to help you overcome issues you may have around valuing yourself so that you have greater self-confidence and a more positive outlook on life.
As a person-centred counsellor, my approach puts you at the centre. I offer you a safe, confidential space to explore what's important to you and what changes you want to make in your life. I'm an integrative counsellor and will sometimes take an existential approach if this is appropriate. I also use Compassion-focussed therapy if I think this might be helpful for you to find more compassion towards yourself.
My first session
I think it's really important for us to meet before you decide whether you want to have counselling with me. If you would like a free introductory session, please let me know. An introductory session usually lasts 15-20 minutes. You'll be able to talk about what you want to get out of counselling. This is also a chance to ask me any questions about the way I work. After this, if you're happy to continue, we can arrange a day and time for your first session.
I look forward to hearing from you.
