About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Matthew (he/him), a queer and neurodivergent therapist (MBACP accredited) providing online therapy across the UK. I specialise in working with LGBTQ+ adults, including bisexual, trans, and non-binary people, as well as neurodivergent clients with ADHD and autism, including those diagnosed later in life. I understand the unique challenges of navigating identity, burnout, masking, and relationship dynamics within queer and neurodivergent communities.
My approach is person-centred and existential, creating a safe, affirming space where you can be fully yourself without needing to explain or justify your experience. I also have experience supporting clients from polyamorous, kink, and sex positive communities.
If you’re looking for therapy that truly understands the intersection of LGBTQ+ identities and neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD), I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey.
Practice description
All weekly sessions take place online or over the telephone. I use Zoom for video sessions and will send you a link shortly before the agreed session start time. If you prefer a telephone session, I will call you at the agreed time.
Online working allows for a more accessible and flexible approach to therapy, and many clients value being able to attend sessions from a space where they feel most comfortable.
I am a recognised psychotherapist with private medical insurers: AXA, Aviva, BUPA and WPA. Please feel free to ask me about payment of sessions through insurance if this applies to you.
My first session
The first session is a chance to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. Many people start with a general feeling of wanting to talk and figure things out together. If you aren’t sure where to start, that’s completely okay.
This is your space, and we will work at a pace that feels right for you. We will also go over the therapy agreement and, most importantly, decide whether we feel like a good fit.
Finding the right therapist is important. If you would like, you’re welcome to email me to arrange a free 10 minute, no obligation chat. This is a relaxed way to see whether working together feels right.
All calls, messages, and emails are treated confidentially. I aim to respond within 24 hours during the working week.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, AIDS/HIV, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Personal development, Post-traumatic stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sensory impairment, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues
