About me and my therapy practice
Outdoor Psychotherapy in a Peaceful Natural Setting
If you spend most of your week indoors, working at a desk or in front of a screen, you may find yourself longing for fresh air, open space and time to slow down.
Walking or sitting together outdoors provides an opportunity not only to talk through what's troubling you, but also to experience the benefits that many people associate with being in nature. The rhythm of walking, changing seasons and open surroundings can help create a different kind of therapeutic experience from meeting in a traditional therapy room.
Whether we walk together or find a quiet place to sit, the focus remains the same: creating a non-judgemental and supportive space where you can explore whatever you're carrying, at a pace that feels right for you.
How I Can Help
Hi there, I'm Sadie. I'm a qualified psychotherapist who supports adults experiencing loss, life transitions, stress, anxiety and trauma. I'm down-to-earth and deeply empathetic, and I know how hard it can be to share those parts of ourselves we usually keep hidden.
I offer a space where you don’t need to pretend everything is “fine” and you can share how you truly feel. Together, we can explore what’s been building beneath the surface and begin to understand where it comes from. Our work might involve talking, or, if it feels right for you, using creative approaches to express thoughts and feelings that are difficult to put into words.
In addition to talking therapy, I also offer EMDR, an evidence-based therapy that can be particularly helpful for processing trauma and distressing experiences. If appropriate, we can incorporate EMDR into our work together.
My hope is to provide a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, heard and understood, so that over time you can develop greater self-awareness and resilience in navigating life's challenges.

Practice description
I offer face-to-face sessions in a lovely, peaceful room in Gosforth, Newcastle, or outdoor sessions in a beautiful and peaceful location.
If you would prefer to work online, please do let me know.
Ongoing Support
I usually work with clients on a weekly basis, at the same time each week. That consistency helps build trust, creates a steady rhythm, and offers the support you need, especially as the work deepens.
I also recognise that therapy is a significant financial commitment. Some people come for a focused piece of work over 8–12 sessions, while others prefer longer-term support. Together, we can think about what feels realistic, helpful, and sustainable for you.
While I generally recommend weekly sessions, I offer a limited number of 90-minute fortnightly outdoor therapy sessions. The longer session length allows time to settle into the work, while keeping the monthly cost more manageable. These are charged at £120 per 90-minute session (approximately £240 per month).
Private Insurance
I am also a recognised psychotherapy provider for Aviva, AXA Health and WPA. If you have a policy with one of these insurers, please contact them to confirm whether your policy covers you for psychotherapy work with me.

About me and my therapy practice
Are you the person everyone assumes is okay? You’re capable and often the one others rely on, but behind the smile or laughter, there’s so much more going on than anyone realises.
Part of you longs to be understood, yet another part fears that if anyone got close enough, they’d see the pain you've learnt to carry alone. Keeping your distance may have helped you get this far, but it can also feel lonely.
Perhaps you’re grieving someone close to you, or there are past experiences that still weigh on your mind. You might be questioning who you are or feeling disconnected from yourself in ways that are hard to put into words.
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to face it alone.
How I Can Help
Hi, I’m Sadie (she/her), a qualified psychotherapist. I work relationally and in depth, with awareness of how past experiences shape how we feel, relate, and protect ourselves.
I work in a few different ways, depending on what feels most helpful.
Reflective conversation offers space to explore your inner world within a safe, consistent relationship. Together, we can notice patterns in how you relate to others and yourself, including protective strategies that may once have been necessary, and feelings that have been pushed aside.
EMDR can help process experiences that feel stuck or easily triggered, so they become less present in daily life. It may also shift long-standing beliefs such as needing to cope alone or that showing emotion isn’t safe.
Outdoor therapy offers a different setting - where walking or sitting nature can make it easier to speak or reflect without pressure.
However we work together, it’s not about pushing you to open up before you’re ready, but about helping you feel safer within yourself so that connection - with your own feelings, with others, and with life - can begin to feel more possible.

Part of you longs to be understood, yet another part fears that if anyone got close enough, they’d see the pain you’ve learned to carry alone. Keeping your distance may have helped you get this far, but it can also feel lonely.
Perhaps you’re noticing that certain memories, emotions, or reactions don’t feel fully “in the past.” You might find yourself getting triggered in ways that feel intense or hard to explain; reacting to situations that seem out of proportion; or feeling as though you’re carrying something that hasn’t fully settled. You may also experience anxiety, shutdown, emotional overwhelm, or a sense of being stuck in patterns you can’t simply think your way out of.
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to face it alone.
How I Can Help
Hi there, I’m Sadie (she/her). I’m a qualified psychotherapist and I integrate EMDR into my work. I work relationally and in depth, with awareness of how past experiences can continue to shape how we feel, relate, and protect ourselves.
EMDR can help when experiences from the past still impact the present in some way. Rather than relying on talking alone, it supports your brain’s natural ability to process and integrate what has felt overwhelming or “stuck.” Over time, what once felt close, raw, or easily triggered can begin to feel more distant and less charged.
This can also help shift long-standing beliefs such as needing to cope alone or not feeling safe to express emotions. The aim is not to erase what has happened, but to help it take up less emotional space, so it no longer shapes your day-to-day life in the same way.
