About me and my therapy practice
Hi there, I'm Sadie and I combine talking therapy with EMDR and creative techniques to help people heal from the past.
Sometimes we carry old emotional wounds that affect how we feel, think, and react—even if we don’t realise it. You might notice unhelpful patterns in relationships, strong emotional reactions that don’t match the situation, or persistent anxiety or self-doubt. Alternatively, flashbacks, intrusive memories, or sudden waves of distress can make it feel as though past experiences are happening again. These responses often reflect how your mind and body learned to cope during difficult times.
I offer a warm, intuitive, and collaborative approach that combines talking therapy with EMDR and creative techniques, guided by what feels right for you.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
EMDR works on the understanding that some past experiences stay “unfinished” in the mind and body, and can still shape our feelings, reactions, and beliefs today.
It helps process memories that have become “stuck,” allowing them to lose their intensity. Using side-to-side movements, such as eye movements or tapping, while focusing on a memory, the brain can reprocess it naturally. Many people find that painful memories no longer trigger the same emotional or physical reactions, and negative self-beliefs shift to kinder, more supportive ones. They often feel calmer and more able to respond to situations with choice rather than old reactions.
Creative Approaches
Creative methods such as guided visualisations, drawing, sand tray, or writing exercises can help you feel supported and explore thoughts and feelings in ways that words alone sometimes can’t. You don’t need to be “creative” or artistic—these activities are simply tools to support you throughout the process.
Whatever approach we take, each session is guided by your pace, preferences, and what feels safe for you.

Accessible Online Sessions
Therapy is offered via the secure video platform 'Zoom,' allowing you to attend sessions from the comfort of your home and fit them into your busy schedule.
Ongoing Weekly Support
I usually work with clients on a weekly basis, at the same time each week. That kind of consistency helps build trust, creates a steady rhythm, and offers the support you need as the work deepens.
At the same time, I understand that therapy is a big financial commitment. I aim to make the work both meaningful and affordable. Some people come for a focused block of 8 to 12 sessions, while others choose to work with me in a more open-ended way — we can talk together about what feels realistic and sustainable for you.
Private Insurance
I am also a recognised psychotherapy provider for Aviva, AXA Health and WPA. If you have a policy with one of these insurers, please contact them to confirm whether your policy covers you for psychotherapy work with me.
