About me and my therapy practice

My Qualifications and Experience I am a Therapist trained in Transactional Analysis, with a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. Prior to being a therapist, I have had over 24 years working in various supporting roles – with adults, students, young people and families, plus 5 years as a social worker in mental health. I enjoyed working in the area of mental health. However, I wanted to be able to work in a more psychological, relational and creative way than a statutory mental health setting allowed. This led me to retrain in psychotherapy and I have found my passion here.

I am active in learning and developing my skills and knowledge as a therapist. I am also excited to be developing my career and expertise by continuing clinical psychotherapy training to become a qualified psychotherapist.

About me I am married with two school aged children. Parenting keeps me on my toes! I'm passionate about parenting and this interest overlaps with my therapy practice. Childhood experiences shape us, and it is a privilege as a therapist to be trusted and work with these experiences.

I love the psychotherapeutic benefits of nature, and enjoy being outside - walking in my local area, wild swimming or being at the beach.

I have my own, well-travelled, therapy journey. I understand the initial nerves, building a therapeutic relationship and the many ‘lightbulb’ moments. The process has been transformational for me.

How I work I offer an empathic, gentle and warm approach that is open, curious and non-judgemental. I provide a safe space for you to be listened to, and for us to explore together whatever you want to bring. Helping you develop a deeper understanding of who you are, and how you relate to others in the light of your experiences.

I really enjoy working creatively with tools like Sand Tray and picture cards. As well as working with the body and nervous system. These approaches can offer gentle yet powerful ways to explore and process trauma at a deeper level.
