About me and my therapy practice

I believe that lasting, meaningful change begins with making sense of our experiences. Whatever brings you to therapy, whether it's a diagnosis, a life experience or simply a feeling that something doesn't feel right, I'll meet you with curiosity and compassion. I use several therapeutic approaches flexibly, guided by what feels helpful. Alongside what you already know about yourself, I will notice and hold in mind aspects of your experience that may not yet feel clear to you. Together, we can begin to make sense of the protective patterns and beliefs that have helped you cope, developing a shared understanding of you & your world.

I provide a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship alongside psychological knowledge and evidence-informed coping tools. I have extensive experience as a fully qualified, BACP accredited, trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming therapist, specialising in anxiety, depression, OCD, those who have autism/are autistic and/or ADHD and those areas listed below.

My clinical experience has reinforced the idea that no single therapeutic approach can fully capture the complexity of being human. This has led me to undertake professional development in areas that resonate with the clients I work with and these are listed on this profile.

Practice description

For clients who would like face to face sessions, I work from a private therapy room in West Christchurch. The therapy room benefits from air-conditioning and heating. It's close to the Wessex Way (A338) and accessible by public transport from Bournemouth, Poole, West Hampshire and surrounding areas.

For clients who would like video sessions, I work internationally from a private and confidential space on the secured and encrypted, online platform Zoom. I am certified in online therapy.

Online therapy offers a flexible way of working that can be from a place that suits you. If you would like assistance accessing this I can guide you through the process.

I have achieved BACP Accreditation status, meeting their higher standard with recognition of my professional competence, ethical practice and independent clinical work.

My first session

Before the first session I'll send you everything you'll need, including details of how to join online sessions or directions and practical information if you're attending in person, so you know exactly what to expect.

Our first session is an information gathering of what you feel will be helpful for me to know for our work together. I understand there may be some anxiety or anticipation about getting started, so we'll go at your pace.
