About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my page.
I provide a genuine, empathetic and grounding presence for you, so you have a trusted companion on your journey with me in therapy. I am passionate about supporting my clients to explore their issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviours and worldview, so that you may become more self-determining and understanding of yourself, or situation.
I work sensitively with a wide range of issues, helping you process what’s difficult, reconnect with yourself, and move toward meaningful change. EMDR and can support a wide range of issues and difficulties such as trauma, PTSD, Phobias and Disorders.
As an accredited Person Centred and EMDR therapist, I believe everyone deserves a space to feel heard and supported. I aim to facilitate a co-created relationship where you are valued and respected as a whole person, no matter what your challenges may be. Whatever the reason may be to seek therapy, I strive to offer a safe, confidential and nurturing environment for you.
Practice description
You can choose to have therapy in a way which suits your needs, whether it is Person Centred Talking Therapy or EMDR.
Person Centred therapy enables you to discover the answers you seek in a safe space. By creating together a space full of warmth, empathy, respect and genuineness, you will be empowered to trust yourself and understand your challenges more fully. In this way you have a trusting space to address and process the difficulties you may be facing. I believe you are the expert of yourself and therefore treat you without judgement and full respect.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that helps you to heal from trauma and distressing life events. Through therapy and eye movements we change how your brain stores traumatic events by making them less impactful and intrusive. It involves recalling difficult memories whilst engaging in bilateral stimulation like eye movements. It is recommended for any disturbing life event such as trauma, PTSD, phobias, depression, anxieties and disorders.
I work with adults, children (13yrs above) and young people. I have a wide experience of client issues, namely bereavement, relationship difficulties, anxiety and depression, trauma, stress, self esteem, life transitions, carers, mental health difficulties and sexual abuse/assault.
My first session
It is important you feel comfortable in our relationship and that you have found the right therapist for you. In your first session we will cover together what to expect from therapy, discuss the contract and what brings you to therapy. It is a chance to get to know each other and to answer any questions or queries you might have.
Thereafter we will work together weekly until such a time you feel ready to end sessions. I offer regular reviews to ensure you are gaining what you need to from the work. All sessions are open ended because each client is unique and will approach sessions in different ways. However some clients might be limited due to time or finances and we can discuss working in a short term way together.
All sessions are 50 minutes long at £85 per session. If you are a trainee therapist sessions are £50.
If we are working in EMDR the initial session will be a history taking and assessment as well as the above process.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited Person Centred Psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner with experience of working in private practice and as a manager within helping profession organisations. I hold a Level 6 CPCAB Therapeutic Counselling Supervision qualification.
I will offer a supervision environment that is safe, non-judgmental, empathic and supportive. I will model the core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence. This means we will build a relationship of trust and collaboration whereby you feel able to approach the relationship as an equal. By holding a trusting and equal relationship we can focus on your needs with the client at the heart of the work. Together we can ensure that your standards, quality, learning, creativity, sustainability and resilience are considered and enhanced.
Please note I do not offer EMDR Consultant Supervision at present.
