About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome,
Thank you for visiting my page.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist for adults, and I also have many years of experience working with children and young people, including university, college, and secondary school students.
My approach to counselling is integrative, meaning I draw on different therapeutic models to suit each individual. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment, and person-centred therapy.
My Qualifications
PG Certificate Adult Autism Assessment
MSc Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy
BSc Psychology
Outside of being a psychotherapist
I spend my free time with friends and family, while also valuing time alone for self-care. I enjoy studying English Literature, cooking, reading, and planning home or event décor.
I am also enthusiastic about travelling, as it allows me to explore different cultures, cuisines, and languages.
I was born and raised in the UK and have maintained a close connection with my cultural roots. This gives me a strong understanding of both Western and South Asian culture and lifestyle.
Practice description
In my practice, I have supported clients with a wide range of difficulties, including low self-esteem and confidence, attachment issues, relationship and family difficulties, grief and loss, anxiety, low mood, stress, low motivation, body image concerns, work stress and neurodivergence.
I have previously worked across a range of settings outside of private practice, including local counselling services, a women’s counselling centre, and as a school therapist in primary schools, secondary schools, sixth forms, and colleges.
I also have experience of working with clients from non-Western cultural backgrounds who may face challenges around identity, family expectations, and cultural differences. I value and understand my own ethnic background and recognise how these experiences can influence mental health, lifestyle, and personal choices.
More recently, I have completed additional training in neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism and ADHD, and I work as part of a neurodevelopmental assessment team for children. I support clients who are neurodivergent, or who are exploring whether they may be, by offering understanding, psychoeducation, and practical strategies within our work together.
My first session
Once I have received your enquiry, I aim to respond within 3 working days.
I offer a free 10-minute telephone consultation to answer any questions you may have and to explain how I work in counselling.
If you decide to start counselling with me, I will email you a welcome letter, next steps, and my therapeutic contract. The contract will need to be read and signed before your first session.
During our first counselling session, I will introduce myself and help you feel comfortable in the space and setting. We will also complete an assessment form, which includes taking some personal details and exploring your reasons for seeking counselling and your goals for therapy.
