About me and my therapy practice
Life can be difficult, full of uncertainties and challenges, which can naturally leave us at times feeling distressed, overwhelmed, confused or alone.
As a fully qualified BACP registered therapist, with additional training in trauma and nervous system regulation, I would like to reassure you that these feelings, whilst difficult, are a normal part of being human. You have not failed, you are not wrong, often you are reacting to a difficult situation and what you need is to be heard and supported at this time.
Whatever your reason for considering therapy, from a loss, to difficult emotions, dilemmas or conflicts, I can offer a warmth, emotional safety, free from judgment, which allows you to feel supported enough to begin to make sense of what you are experiencing and help you find a way forward that provides a greater sense of ease within you.
Practice description
As an integrative therapist, I offer a range of therapeutic skills which allow me the flexibility to work in a way that is tailored to you. My belief is that we are all so unique, shaped by our own very personal set of experiences and way of being in the world. As such, my therapeutic approach will reflect this, and I will work in a way that is attuned to you and your individual needs. My aim is to work compassionately and collaboratively at your pace and to a depth that feels comfortable and safe for you.
I have a special interest in working with the mind/body connection and draw upon neuroscience and somatics to help us regulate the nervous system. This can be particularly helpful in all areas, including anxiety, depression and trauma.
At the heart of my work is the belief that we are all capable of finding the answers to our difficulties and my role is to help you find your truth and sense of meaning in life. By doing so, I believe you have the potential to change in a positive way that feels right for you. It is my hope that our therapeutic relationship will allow you to embark on a journey in which you can increase your confidence and belief in yourself, as well as your future choices.
I work with clients who are 16 years and over. I welcome all clients, regardless of their background and look forward to getting to know you as the unique individual you are.
My first session
I realise how daunting the idea of therapy can be, and I offer a free initial 30-minute call to chat through what you are experiencing. It gives me the chance for me to learn a little about what you hope to gain from therapy and to see if it might be a good fit for us to work together.
It also allows you to see how comfortable you feel when talking to me, as I believe it’s so important that you feel at ease with your therapist to get the most out of the therapeutic work.
