About me and my therapy practice
Counselling and psychotherapy are processes enabled through empathy, a form of deep understanding and sharing of the feelings of the other, positive regard, and non-judgemental listening all facilitated through the therapeutic relationship. The first step in the process may often be a form of validation, which supports the truth of past experiences as real, valid and meaningful and provides the building blocks of trust and belief in the self. This is where your journey might begin.
I have a Master's degree in Therapeutic Counselling from the University of Greenwich, am an accredited member of the BACP, and hold a Diploma in Integrative Supervision for Individuals and Couples. I have worked for a number of years in a large NHS mental health hospital in south London and have both coaching and mentoring experience, offering both in-person and online sessions. I am an Aviva, AXA Health and Vitality Health Registered Therapist.

Availability
I am available for supervision both online or in-person. My rooms are in The Debra Ubee Trust, 20 Egerton Drive, SE108JS, and Linear House, Peyton Place, SE108RS, both in Greenwich, south east London. My working days are Monday to Thursday with more availability on Mondays between 12 & 6pm and Tuesdays all day, currently. I do not work for two weeks at Christmas and Easter respectively and the full month of August.
About me and my therapy practice
The foundation of good supervision is based on the supervisory alliance - our working collaborative relationship - therefore, it is from a relational standpoint that the work may begin. The first step is to identify which level you are working at and helps to identify your needs. My model of supervision therefore is developmental.
Practice description
I ask supervisees to bring their vulnerability in the work as well as all ethical, competence and safe-guarding concerns.
I offer knowledge with humility and a willingness to think together. I am interested in supervisee self-mastery which builds on the idea of scaffolding - how you add to your clinician's toolkit and build on existing structures in a safe and accessible way.
My first session
Our first session would last fifty minutes and is where you may like to share your hopes, expectations and fears (including your accrediting body's minimum supervision requirements so we can figure out frequency of supervision).
I would like to work with all practitioners of all modalities and particularly welcome trainees and newly qualified therapists.
