About me and my therapy practice
About Me & My Practice
I am Jani, an accredited multicultural counsellor with over 7 years of experience specialised in the complexities of identity, autonomy, and belonging. With a background in yoga and Eastern philosophy, I integrate Gestalt and Embodied therapy to support you in reclaiming your inner authority.
My practice is a dedicated space for individuals who have experienced rigid systems, restrictive relationships, or the unique challenges of living between cultures. I know personally how a "dark place" can feel, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is a deeply restorative tool for moving back toward the light.
My Approach: Mind, Body, and Culture
My style is interactive, collaborative, and deeply non-judgemental. We don’t just "talk" about problems; we work toward a wholesome connection between mind and body.
Embodied Therapy: We use mindfulness and somatic techniques to reset the nervous system and restore inner balance.
Gestalt & Relational Therapy: We explore how you relate to yourself and others, fostering the awareness needed to act on your true needs.
Multicultural Focus: Growing up in an intercultural environment, I understand the friction of transition and the beauty of diversity.
I offer sessions in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
