About me and my therapy practice
Coronavirus update: I am back working in the office (Visors available on request). I am continuing with some telephone or online sessions for clients who prefer and/ or feel safer that way.
Sessions are generally 50 minutes.
Hi I am Douglas;
I am an integrative counsellor and addiction therapist working in Shoreditch
Experience has shown me that the relation formed between client and therapist is the most important part of therapy.
With this in mind, I provide a comfortable, non-judgemental and confidential environment where I can help you gain insight into the less conscious aspects of your thinking, behaviour and feelings.
I can offer brief focused counselling where we can address a current situation, as well as longer term psychotherapy where we would work together to disentangle deeper rooted difficulties which may have built up over time as a result of your earlier life experiences.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centered, Existential and Psychodynamic therapy, although my approach will depend on the clients' needs. I also have 2 years of training within a well respected acute addictions clinic and have an outstanding success rate facilitating clients into long term recovery from addiction.
I understand how difficult it can be to find a therapist and then make the call. Feel free to call me to discuss any blocks or fears you may have in starting your journey;
Or simply contact me to book a session.

About me and my therapy practice
[Your Name] – Psychotherapist in Shoreditch
I am a qualified psychotherapist based in Shoreditch, offering a supportive and reflective space for individuals navigating challenges such as addiction, relationships, self-esteem, and life transitions. My approach is integrative, drawing from psychodynamic, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral therapies to suit each client’s unique needs.
With experience working in drug and alcohol rehabilitation, I understand the complexities of trauma, attachment, and self-destructive patterns. Whether you're seeking clarity, emotional resilience, or deeper self-awareness, I provide a collaborative and compassionate environment to explore your thoughts and experiences.
For inquiries or to book a session, feel free to get in touch.
Practice description
A key part of my work is helping clients understand how past experiences, relationships, and deep-seated beliefs shape their present. By bringing awareness to these patterns, we can explore new ways of relating to yourself and others, allowing for meaningful and lasting change. I work relationally, which means our therapeutic relationship itself will be a valuable space to understand how you connect with the world around you.
I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support, and I respect the courage it takes to engage in therapy. Whether you’re looking for short-term focus or deeper exploration, I work collaboratively to help you build emotional resilience and a greater sense of self-acceptance.
