About me and my therapy practice

I am a Humanistic therapist, which means I believe in your innate ability to think for yourself, to grow, develop and heal. I'm warm, authentic and compassionate and I'll support you as you explore and bring about the changes you want to make.

In our sessions, we'll focus on whatever feels helpful for you. You might wish to explore how your history or childhood affects you now, and perhaps question old beliefs or patterns of behaviour. You might need compassionate support, or space and time to talk about what's happening for you right now. I'll also be sensitive to any contextual issues you want to look at, whether they're day to day, existential, political or environmental.

My training includes Person Centred Therapy, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. I combine these three models so that I can offer therapy that's tailored to you. Often it's enough just to talk, to hear yourself out loud and be heard and understood by someone else. If it's useful to you, we might sometimes work with creative techniques, like drawing or writing, or we might explore how you experience emotion in your body, as well as your mind.

At the start of our work, we'll talk about what you'd like to get from counselling. This might be something very specific or it may be more abstract. It's also fine if you don't know what you'd like to achieve, or don't want to work with any kind of goal in mind. I want to be as useful to you as possible, so from time to time, we'll take a look at how you feel our sessions are going.

I'll offer you a safe and confidential space. I bring my real self to our work and I'll be alongside you, to notice, reflect, listen, empathise and gently challenge. I will meet you as a whole person; not only your struggles but all that you are.

About me and my therapy practice

I'm a BACP Accredited, Humanistic Integrative counsellor and supervisor. I'm warm, approachable, authentic and dynamic. In my supervisory work, I aim to offer support, encouragement and helpful challenge.

I view the supervisory relationship as a safe, collaborative space where you can reflect on your interventions and the theoretical basis for your work, explore unconscious processes between you and your clients or discuss your professional development and training. We might also look at working creatively, review the development of your practice, explore ethical issues, or take note of how you are caring for yourself.

I work with a blend of Gestalt, TA and Person Centred Approach, and am also informed by Attachment Theory, Clarkson’s Five Relationship Model and Egan’s Solution Focussed model.

My specialisms are bereavement, anxiety, family conflict, relationships and depression.

I also have particular interest in supporting therapists in the practical, developmental and psychological aspects of transitioning from trainee to private practitioner.

I am offering supervision at a reduced fee until the end of 2024, while I work towards my Diploma in Supervision

Practice description

I am working towards my Diploma in Supervision at Connexus in Hove.

Towards achieving this qualification, I am offering low cost supervision for work with individual adults (18+) until the end of 2024.

I am offering 50 minute supervision sessions in person or online at £35 until the end of 2024. Longer sessions may also be available.

I have been in practice since 2018. I hold a Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling from Wealden Institute. In my work, I invite relational depth and exploration of psychological processes, alongside supporting clients to identify and bring about the changes they wish to make.

Additional training includes

Certificate in Working with Couples (Connexus)
