About me and my therapy practice
About me
My name is Kerrie Ann. I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and supervisor, and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I trained at the Metanoia Institute in London.
Originally from Australia, I have lived in the UK for many years. This experience shapes my open, flexible, and culturally aware approach to therapy.
How I work
I offer a calm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is weighing on you. Therapy can help you reflect, understand yourself more deeply, and make positive changes that support your wellbeing and personal growth.
I work collaboratively, listening carefully while also offering gentle challenge and a different perspective when helpful. My aim is to support you in making sense of your experiences and navigating difficult decisions with greater clarity and confidence.
Experience
I have a background in education and have worked extensively with children, parents, and teaching staff over many years. This has given me a strong understanding of complex family dynamics, work-related stress, and the challenges of living away from family and familiar support networks.
You might be considering counselling if you:
Have a responsible or demanding role and need a confidential space to talk
Feel overwhelmed or stuck with decisions
Are experiencing relationship or family difficulties
Want to better understand yourself and your patterns
I offer supportive, thoughtful therapy to help life and relationships feel more manageable and meaningful.
Practice description
My consultation work can be short term or longer term therapy, depending on what the need is. With talking based therapy, clients can feel more empowered to tackle life's difficulties, and more able to make balanced decisions.
I can help identify unhelpful patterns and negative thinking, and support clients to see difficult situations from different perspective.
I offer a warm and supportive space for you to talk, and to be heard. Together we can work through the issues that are causing you discomfort. Being brave enough to be curious about yourself, exploring how you are feeling and understanding yourself can be life-changing.
I have particular interest in:
. supporting parents struggling with their relationships with children
. providing young people with tools for such difficulties as low self-esteem, anxiety and social concerns
. working alongside teachers and other education professionals with the pressures of work
. relational issues
. supporting people living away from their families
. spiritual-related issues
. loss and bereavement
. pet loss
. work-induced stress
. health-related issues
. anxiety
. personal awareness and understanding/self esteem
