About me and my therapy practice

Psychological symptoms can affect so much of life, yet also carry messages that speak to our deepest conflicts, pains & desires.

Hi, I'm Craig. I offer a down-to-earth take on psychotherapy and am passionate about helping people work through their difficulties in the deepest way, with time for yourself, no pressure and no judgement. You may have a specific issue affecting your life, or a vague sense of not feeling right, but want to understand yourself more deeply.

I have a lot of experience working with issues like: persistent anxiety & depression; relationship problems; trauma; quarter/mid-life crisis; grief, loss & illness; identity issues; giftedness & creativity.

I often work with academics and creatives, or anyone who relates to experiences with: giftedness, creativity, introversion and feeling highly sensitive. These experiences can bring emotional intensities and sensitivities that add to or complicate mental health issues; or oftentimes can be misdiagnosed as mental health issues in themselves.

Feel free to give me a call, text or e-mail for a free initial chat and for more info about me and how therapy might help.

Practice description

I'm an integrative therapist which means I draw from a range of therapy approaches. These are predominantly psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapy, and existential-humanistic therapy.

For me, psychodynamic therapy remains one of the most nuanced, open-minded ways to address our problems, appreciating the rich complexity of life and the innermost, often hidden, parts of ourselves.

Where psychodynamic therapy focusses on the past, existential and humanistic therapies offer a helpful counterbalance, with a rich view into how our awareness of our present and future affects our emotional struggles.

My approach to therapy is especially well suited towards medium-long term therapy, to help with issues that feel stuck or that you've struggled with for a long time. Or difficulties you've worked on before, but still they seem to persist and return.

My first session

Feel free to email, message or give me a call and we can arrange a free initial conversation of about 15 minutes and go from there.

The initial assessment session will be a full 60 minutes, and gives you a chance to get a more thorough sense of me and how I work, before we look to continue.

Beyond that, continuing sessions last for 50 minutes, where we  get more deeply into things.

What I can help with

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Coercive control, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Menopause, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Narcissism, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Pet bereavement, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Vegan allied, Women's issues, Work related issues
