About me and my therapy practice

Hello! I am Nisa,

I am BACP registered and accredited Psychodynamic Counsellor. I am also an experienced Bereavement Counsellor trained at Cruse Bereavement Care.

I completed four years of rigorous training in psychodynamic counselling at the Counselling Foundation and also trained at the University of Hertfordshire.

In my practice, I have helped clients with a broad range of concerns, anxiety, addictions, depression, bereavement, childhood abuse, shame, anger, low self-esteem, narcissistic injuries, victims of crime, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorder,  body dysmorphia and relational trauma created through family dynamics,.

Reaching out for counselling and psychotherapy isn’t easy to do, especially if you haven’t gone to therapy before. Taking that first step is, perhaps the hardest step of all and it takes huge courage to realise that you may need help, and no longer want to suffer and struggle to cope on your own.

At first, speaking to a therapist may feel daunting and you may feel uncertain about what to say or what it is that the therapist can do for you.

Counselling could make a difference between ‘continuing to struggle and suffer in silence’ or ‘developing inner strength and the self-belief’ needed to bring about real change.

Practice description

I am Psychodynamic practitioner with a background in banking management. I work short-term on specific goal-oriented concerns and also offer long-term therapy.

Psychodynamic therapy explores the significance of earlier life experiences in shaping our psychological development and our relationships as adults.

My work is driven with compassion and integrity and will sensitively explore your past and present circumstances, to better understand how past events are remembered or relived.

Finding the right person to confide, is an important part in your healing journey.

When you are ready, please contact me on this directory or visit my webpage. www.Mycounsellingplace.co.uk

My first session

During our initial consultation session which lasts 60 minutes, you will have an opportunity to tell me what brought you to counselling and to explore what support you may need from therapy.

This is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If you would like further sessions, we will agree on a weekly time that works for both of us.

I recommend clients to attend regular weekly session, as this allows for a strong therapeutic relationship to develop. I am also aware that it may not always be possible to have weekly sessions and I am happy to be flexible to meet your needs around your availability.
