About me and my therapy practice
I'm Graham, a BACP accredited counsellor offering online counselling to adults across the UK.
There are all sorts of reasons why someone might consider counselling. Sometimes there's something specific going on, perhaps difficulties in a relationship, anxiety, stress or something that's happened in the past.
Other times, it isn't so clear. You might just have a sense that something isn't quite right, without really knowing why.
My approach is humanistic and integrative. I see counselling as a conversation where we can explore your experiences and develop a greater awareness of how you feel, think and respond to things. Sometimes, becoming more aware of ourselves can help us recognise possibilities and choices we hadn't previously considered. I'm interested in understanding you as an individual, rather than making assumptions about what your experiences mean.
If you've never had counselling before, you might not know what to expect, what to talk about or where to begin. That's fine. There's no particular way you need to approach it. We can start with whatever feels right for you and take things from there.
Practice description
I offer individual online counselling through Zoom with appointments lasting either 60 or 90 minutes.
I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life changes and the effects of past experiences.
I also have a particular interest in working with people who are neurodivergent, including those with ADHD or autism.
My approach is flexible rather than following a set programme of sessions. What we explore, and the pace at which we work, will depend on what you bring to counselling and what feels important to you.
Sessions are £50 for 60 minutes or £70 for 90 minutes. Reduced rates are available for counselling students.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what has brought you to counselling and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
I'll explain a little about how I work, including confidentiality and the practical arrangements for our sessions. There will also be time for any questions you might have.
You don't need to prepare anything or arrive with a clear explanation of what's happening. We can begin wherever feels comfortable for you.
The first session is charged at the usual session rate, and there's no obligation to book further appointments.

About me and my therapy practice
I'm Graham, a BACP accredited counsellor and qualified clinical supervisor, offering online supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors.
My approach is humanistic and integrative, and this influences how I understand both counselling and supervision.
I'm interested in the relationship between counsellor and client, but also in what we bring to our work ourselves. Our experiences, values and assumptions can influence how we understand and respond to others, sometimes without us being particularly aware of it.
I see supervision as something we work on together. I value curiosity, openness and the opportunity to consider different perspectives. We won't necessarily agree on everything, and I think there's value in being able to question and challenge each other's thinking.
For me, supervision involves supporting your development as a practitioner while also recognising the professional and ethical responsibilities we have towards the people we work with.
Practice description
I offer individual online clinical supervision through Zoom, with 60 and 90 minute appointments available.
You might bring a particular client situation that you'd like to explore, something happening within the therapeutic relationship, or perhaps a feeling that something isn't quite right but you're not sure why.
We can look at the work from different perspectives, including your own experiences and responses, and consider what might be influencing what's happening.
There may also be times when we need to explore ethical questions, boundaries, risk or decisions about how to move forward.
My approach is flexible and collaborative. I draw on different supervision models and therapeutic perspectives where they might be useful, rather than trying to make everything fit one particular framework.
I welcome both trainee and qualified counsellors, including those looking for ongoing supervision as well as support with particular aspects of their practice.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity to get to know each other, talk about your practice and explore what you're looking for from supervision.
We can discuss how we might work together, including your experience, current client work, any particular areas you'd like to focus on and what you need from the supervisory relationship.
There's also time to ask questions and talk through any expectations or practical arrangements.
If we decide to work together, I'll send you a supervision agreement following our first session.
There's no expectation that you need to arrive with a particular case or something prepared. We can use the time to see whether working together feels right for both of us.
The first session is charged at the usual session rate.
