About me and my therapy practice
My name is Karen. I am a qualified counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly and begin to explore the challenges you may be facing.
I work mainly from a person-centred approach, which means I place your individual experiences, emotions, and values at the heart of our work together. My aim is to create a safe environment that supports healing and a deeper self-understanding and awareness.
Life can be overwhelming at times. You may be feeling low, depressed, anxious, stuck, or struggling with change. You may be coping with a loss, navigating relationship challenges, or facing transitions that feel uncertain or difficult. Whatever you are going through, therapy can be a safe space to explore underlying emotions to help reduce, understand and process difficult feelings. Supporting positive, improved meaningful change to promote personal healthy growth.
Practice description
I am a qualified person centred counsellor with over 25 years experience working within the NHS and VCSE organisations supporting and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing.
I am qualified in Talking therapies counselling for depression (PCE CFD ) This therapy involves a humanistic approach that encourages you to focus on your immediate feelings and experiences. Facilitating meaningful psychological change.
I have had further training in one at a time therapy (single session model)
I work with adults 18+ years and have extensive experience working with older adults and perinatal clients
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute introductory call. This first step provides a space to briefly connect and explore what brings you to counselling and how i might be able to support you.
