About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative therapist using a range of approaches. I have a special interest in bpd/eupd. I use interventions from a range of modalities including DBT, TA, Person Centred and more. I  believe in creating a warm safe environment, I want my client's to feel safe enough to be challenged, this helps to promote change and personal growth. The type of client I work best with is one who is open to change, willing to think and feel differently. Most of my success has been with issues such as low confidence, self esteem, relationship issues, poor emotional regulation, addiction, unhealthy view of self and others, struggling to cope, perhaps because of bereavement, loss, issues from childhood, menopause, workplace bullying and more. I have been involved in therapy, mental health, and substance misuse for the last 19+ years. I have worked in both leading statutory and private organisations in the UK.

I am an accredited member of the BACP, I also hold a BSc Hons Degree in Psychosocial Mental Health from The University of Central Lancashire. In addition to this, I have a diploma in Integrative Counselling, Substance Misuse Level 3 and have trained in many other areas and am currently studying ADHD and Autism and DBT.  I believe that when it comes to therapy a tailored approach works best.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP). My practice is fully insured, and I receive regular supervision as per BACP code of ethics. Confidentiality and discretion is at the heart of my practice.

I offer face to face, online and telephone appointments. My sessions are 50-60 minutes at £50 per session, this is payable in advance. I accept bank transfer or cash in person.

I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds including the LGBTQ+ community.  If I sound like the therapist for you, please get in touch for a free initial consultation.

Practice description

I have been described as warm, empathetic and calming. I like to get to the roots of the presenting issues; to help my clients really understand themselves better. I can be directive at times, if I feel this is needed. I believe in educating and empowering my clients to know their true worth. Once the main areas of need have been identified, the work will begin. This is why a tailored approach is best. We are all individual with our own unique set of experiences and circumstances.

My first session

I invite you to arrange a free introductory call.

Typically an introductory call last's around 15/20 minutes, I will ask you for a little background about yourself and what's bringing you to seek therapy. It's an opportunity for us to get to know each other, and for any questions you may have.

There is no obligation to start therapy with me but if we do both feel that we would work well together and our diaries match up, we can arrange our first session together.
