About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Michelle, and welcome to my profile. I am an experienced integrative counsellor working online across the UK.
You maybe someone who struggles with feelings of anxiety, experiences panic attacks, feels overwhelmed and disconnected. Often resulting from difficult life experiences and trauma.
My way of working with clients is using a somatic and integrative approach. Helping clients to have a better understanding of their own nervous system, and to develop and find ways to find a greater sense of calm, safety and regulation within themselves.
As an integrative counsellor, I believe there is not just one therapeutic approach that can help my clients in all situations. Some clients can find it difficult to communicate in words how they feel.
If appropriate for the needs of my clients. I may invite them to explore their thoughts and feelings through creative activities, such as working with metaphors, using visual tools, or reflective exercises. You may be reading this and thinking 'I am not good at Art!', and I will admit I used to feel the same, but working creatively can help us to understand our internal world.
There is never any pressure to engage in this, and it is always taken slowly at the pace of what feels right for my client.
Practice description
I can offer you a confidential space, where you will be treated with warmth, empathy and respect. I will work with you to find the best support possible. I see counselling as a collaborative experience between myself and my client.
My extensive knowledge of working with children and teenagers, has vastly informed my practice with adults. Giving me deeper understanding and compassion of how childhood development and our own experiences as children has shaped us.
I have both personal and professional experience of working with clients who are neurodivergent, with or without a diagnosis, and I feel passionately that every individual has the right to compassion, understanding, and to be seen and held. We are all different, and wonderfully unique. I see my clients as individuals and their circumstances.

My first session
Initial consultation:
Finding the right counsellor or therapist can feel overwhelming especially if you are feeling nervous and unsure where to begin.
To support you in taking the first step I offer a free 20 minute telephone call. This is a relaxed, no obligation conversation where you can ask:
Questions you may have about counselling.
Share a little about what has been going on for you.
Explore whether my way of working feels right for you.
I will also explain my therapeutic approach, and how I might be able to support you. This ensures you can make an informed decision about starting therapy with me.
What to expect in the first session
In our first session we will spend time, getting to know each other, and clarify what therapeutic interventions we can try together.
An initial assessment will be conducted. This will allow me to understand your needs, your previous experiences of counselling, and what support and goals you would like to work on.
