About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Kate, a warm and experienced counsellor. Thank you for your interest in my profile - I know looking for a therapist is a big step.
Life can ask a lot of us. Along the way, we’ll second-guess ourselves, struggle through change, have our confidence knocked, and carry invisible loads. In the mix there’s love, loss, and the moments that really matter.
Being human is tender, tangled work - and our changing world doesn’t make it easy.
Therapy gives us space to think and room to breathe. A place to make sense of the mess, the meaning, and everything in between. Whatever you bring, we’re in it together.
If we work together, you can expect our sessions to be warm, friendly, and at a pace that feels right for you. I won’t tell you what to do, or make decisions for you. I’ll do a lot of listening and some gentle questioning to help you explore what’s important to you.
I have Monday daytime availability at the moment (in-person or online), and I have a waiting list for Tuesday/Wednesday evenings (online).

Practice description
TA helps us to explore the ways that our life experiences and childhood still shape the decisions we make (and the limitations we put on ourselves), and gives us the opportunity to make different choices.
I offer a safe, confidential space to explore whatever has been on your mind.
Perhaps low mood, worry, or stress is feeling overwhelming. Maybe you keep finding yourself having the same problems in relationships. You might want to make a change, but don’t know where to start. Or perhaps you're just finding it hard to be hopeful.
Over the years, I've worked with people facing challenges such as low mood, anxiety, stress, worry, loss, perfectionism, lack of motivation, relationship issues, grief, and climate anxiety.
My first session
The half-price initial consultation is an opportunity for us to meet and explore what brings you to counselling - and to get a feel for what it'd be like to work together. There’s no obligation to enter therapy with me after this session.
In the consultation, we'll have a wide-ranging conversation about your history, what's brought you to counselling, and the change you'd like to see.
If you decide to go ahead with therapy with me, all your sessions are tailored to you and your goals. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, and I'll check in with you regularly about how you feel it’s going.
